Team in Training Fundraiser at 10th and Willow — Friday, January 23, 2015 at 8pm

 laura sobieski

In December of 2013, Laura, an NYC teacher, was diagnosed with aggressive non-Hodgkin Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma.  She bravely faced the disease head-on through intensive chemotherapy. By early summer, her doctor was telling her to “pop the champagne!” because she responded so successfully to treatment. She returned to school in September, and our Winston family participated in the LLS “Light the Night” walk in celebration. Shortly thereafter, Laura experienced a relapse and has been back in hospital. Selfless by nature, Laura’s main concern was for her students. The genuine efforts she put into ensuring that the kids were processing and sharing their emotions was truly remarkable. It raised the question, “What actions can be taken to support Laura while nurturing the complicated emotions felt by her students?”  The obvious action was to take action! Meet tonight at 10th and Willow to donate to her cause! More info on this cause here.

Bene Mudra Wellness Training – Reiki Level 3: Saturday and Sunday January 24th and 25th – 9-6:30pm

bg-1-271990

The final initiation and certification into the Reiki Usui System of Natural Healing! The student will have had completed reiki levels 1 and 2 under the guidance of an expert master teacher in order to be admitted into this level. Bene Mudra has also priced this training level at a lesser cost to accommodate it’s students.
Qualified students will be given the final attunement to the master symbol, learn new and exciting reiki techniques used by top masters around the world, practice material learned on real clients, learn all aspects of attuning others, lean how to formulate classes and trainings and receive their certification as Reiki Master Teacher (RMT), thus licensing them to teach and grow their own reiki community! Students will also learn how to guide and facilitate meditation classes and reiki circles. Bene Mudra’s classes are very small and intimate and are an excellent way to learn and comprehend the material. James is very hands on with each student and allows for ample practice time. Students will also learn aspects of reiki that are not taught in most schools. While remaining true to the traditional Japanese techniques, James also uses his vast experience and incorporates knowledge and wisdom that will serve the student in their every day reiki practice. This includes new techniques, intuitive reiki, psychic cleansing and more!
