Honoring Veterans on Veterans Day 2014 in Hoboken

It’s the special time of the year when we show our veterans how much we love and appreciate them–and places in and around Hoboken are doing the same. Bring a veteran friend, family member, or yourself to any of these thoughtful and great events in the town this Tuesday, November 11th, for thoughtful offers of gratitude! Below is a list of events:

1. Texas Arizona Bar & Grill Salute to Service

All active and retired soldiers will receive food and drink specials at Texas Arizona! Families get deals too!

2. FREE cannolis at Carlo’s Bakery

To honor our troops, Carlo’s Bakery is offered free cannolis to all miltary personnel at any Carlo’s Bakery locations nationwide! All that’s needed is a military ID!

3. Veteran’s Day Ceremony

A brief ceremony for veterans will be held at the World War II memorial near 5th Sinatra Park. The Military Order of the Purple Heart will be honoring our veterans.

4. Honoring our Heroes at The Historic Jersey City and Harismus Cemetery

Come gather at 1PM for a day of celebration! There will be music by The Manhattan Dolls, soloist Chimene Petitt, and more! The event is free and refreshments will be served. At 435 Newark Ave in Jersey City.

5. 2014 America’s Parade in NYC

If you’d rather do something big and lavish for your favorite veteran, just take them here! The parade will be from 11:25AM-3:30PM on Fifth Ave along 26th through 52nd streets. The opening ceremony will be at the Eternal Light Monument at 11AM and groups will assemble next to Madison Square Park! All info can be found here.

6. Korean War Memorial Ceremony

At the memorial in Jersey City from 9:30-10AM

7. Citizenship Ceremony

Mayor Steve Fulop, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the City Council of Jersey City will host a citizenship ceremony in City Council chambers.
