The Nail Loft was featured a few months ago for a recent Mani Monday, but we love it so much we had to include it again!  It’s been almost a year since they opened their doors, and it’s easy to see what makes them the preferred nail salon in the Heights neighborhood. The salon is spacious and clean — and it provides a ton of different polish selections for any occasion.  Make sure to take advantage of their online reservation system, as well as their FREE parking lot in the rear of the building.

Recommended gift idea: Mani/pedi for $30, a wax, or even threading in an upscale and luxurious setting is a great gift for the beauty lover.

Whether you’re an avid cyclist or bike commuter, Jersey Cycles prides itself as an old school shop that has an eclectic selection of products made for every different type of cyclist.  They offer personal attention for all of your biking needs, including assembly, tune ups, repairs and accessories.  You can even stop by for free air if your tires are low.

Recommended gift idea: Jersey Cycles has tons of locks that range anywhere from $30 – $80 and lights to ride at night are also available for under $20 {and would be a great stocking stuffer}.  If you’re looking for a more high-end gift, go with the Brooks leather saddle which is handmade in England and sells for around $189.

For the Coffee-Lover: Modcup Coffee {479 Palisade Ave}

A Jersey City favorite, Modcup Coffee brews their coffee in micro-batches so that your cup of Joe is served at the ultimate level of freshness.  The baristas are knowledgeable about the roasting process and their passion for making the most flavorful coffee is very apparent in their coffee craft. Since the cafe sits right across from Riverview-Fisk Park, you can’t beat the view of the NYC skyline.

Recommended gift idea:  Modcup  has a super-cool coffee subscription starting at $16, so you can basically wake up every day with the best coffee in town. The beans get mailed straight to their door, either every other week or once a month.  For $30 you can also purchase a box set, which offers three-8 ounce bags of coffee from different growing regions around the world.

For the Foodie: The Hutton {225 Hutton Street}

Plus, the outdoor patio offers a peaceful environment to enjoy a nice round of appetizers and drinks during a Thursday happy hour. For friends and family in the area, gift cards are a great option — and major bonus when you mention “Hoboken Girl” and purchase a gift card of $100 or more, you get a FREE Hutton Cocktail.
