If you were around last summer in Hoboken, you probably remember all of the glory that was Pier 13. For those uninformed, Pier 13 was pretty much THE best thing in Hoboken during the spring, summer, and fall months on a nice day. An outdoor beer garden that had an array of food trucks hanging out at any given moment, Pier 13 is complete with AMAZING New York City views and turf + lawn chairs. Besides going to the beach, it pretty much can’t get any better on a summer afternoon in New Jersey.
The Bad News? Due to members of the marina and boat club requesting that it not be open to the public, Pier 13 is in danger of no longer opening its doors to families and young professionals – which would be a great dissapointment for all of us that have been looking forward to spending time there through this long and cold winter.
So, you might ask — what will we all be missing out on, besides this view?
There just isn’t any place like it in Hoboken to meet old friends and make new ones – make sure to show your support and sign the petition HERE!
There is a meeting coming up on this matter on Tuesday, May 7th at 7pm, with the Hoboken Planning Board in the Conference Room of City Hall (basement/ground floor). Feel free to come and show your support in person in addition to signing this petition!
Because after all, the only thing better than this view at sunset… is this view at sunset with a glass of pinot and some delicious food truck grub in hand (while sitting on a lawn chair, of course).
