The Details

The cause of the fire is unclear, which appears to have broken out between the train in Secaucus near the Lincoln Tunnel Eastern Spur. The fire was located in the marsh area between exits 15X and 16E on the Turnpike, with flames getting dangerously close to the highway.

At 5PM on June 20th, the fire appeared to be extinguished, according to several sources. No injuries have been reported.

Penn Station delays were reported for several hours due to the situation, and there were additional delays, according to NJ Transit on X, due to wire outages around Penn Station. Some trains are being diverted to Hoboken.
