We’ve learned very recently that even amidst a pandemic, love is not cancelled. There have been some extremely creative ways that brides and grooms have celebrated their love for one another even though their full-blown wedding receptions had to be delayed, postponed, or cancelled. Now, as regulations have been slightly lifted regarding indoor and outdoor gatherings, brides are beginning to once again look to wedding venues to bring their big day together. Read on for a guide to waterfront wedding venues in Hudson County:

There are a few things you may have discussed with your significant other about what exactly each of you want in your venue. After all, it does set the tone for your entire celebration. That first step into the venue is an important one to wow your guests. Whether you’re thinking small or really trying to turn it up, some styles you may consider are:

Eloping: A way to have a small, intimate ceremony with the people who are closest to you {and it would be, of course, socially-distanced}.

City Skyline, perhaps? There’s just something so breathtaking about the views of NYC, regardless of how long you’ve been here.

– Being on the water, or in the water: Similar to an elopement, maybe you and your S/O have always dreamed of saying “I Do” on a boat…out at sea…as the sun sets behind you…swoon.

Hobbs Inc

A well-known NJ wedding venue: Some venues are just staples of NJ elegance and perhaps you’d like your big day to be one of their pristine events.

– A more affordable {but still gorgeous} wedding: Unfortunately, NJ venues as a whole tend to be pretty pricey but there are definitely breathtaking waterfront venues that won’t break the bank.

So without further ado, a list of local waterfront venues to take your breath away. Can’t decide on your own or need some help along the way? Wedding coordinators like EVJ Wedding Co. can make this a fun experience and be super helpful to you throughout the process. After all, it’s all about the journey, not just the destination.

1. Liberty House Restaurant {76 Audrey Zapp Drive, Jersey City}

This beautiful venue has a gorgeous upper room with great views of the Freedom Tower and delicious food. One downfall is that the cocktail hour is set to be in a closed in, outdoor tent without the views. In summer that could be hot but nonetheless, it is absolutely breathtaking and definitely a top local choice.

2. Waterside Catering {7800 B River Road, North Bergen}

The views from this venue are very impressive. However, the upstairs room is very stylized so you have to like one specific type of look. Nonetheless, it is bright and open, with tons of natural light and you can host your ceremony and cocktail hour outside, with endless NYC skyline views.

3. The Atelier Ballroom {3 2nd Street, Jersey City}

The Atelier Ballroom is sure to set the stage for your perfect night {or day}. With floor-to-ceiling windows that sweep all around the room, the skyline will be there for you until you dance the last song of the night away, twinkling and making your big night perfect.

4. Chart House {1700 Harbor Boulevard, Weehawken}

Chart House has a menu that is a la carte, which can be either affordable or super expensive. Their delicious menu, however, makes it worth it. The downstairs area of the Chart House has amazing floor-to-ceiling views, and while the upstairs windows are smaller, you’ll be getting skyline in your photos no matter where you are.

5. Molo’s {1 Pershing Road, Weehawken}

This restaurant serves up Greek style food + drinks {lots and lots of Sambuca} and amaaaaazing views of the Empire State Building. Molos is directly on the water, and the views are out of this world. The venue went through a remodel a few years back and is better than ever, ready to play host to your big day.

6. Hudson House {Jersey City}

Hudson House is one of the newest Hudson County wedding venues and the views are second to none here. The building was built with mostly views of the NYC skyline in mind, as you can tell by all of the windows it has. You and your guests can dance the night away as you watch the sun set over the city and end the night with the city’s lights surrounding you.

7. Battello {502 Washington Boulevard, Jersey City}

HG is quite partial to this venue since our founder, Jen, chose this venue to host her wedding! This spot is rustic feel meets boat house meets city views with incredible decor {a mix of Italian lights, wood, glass, and…it’s on a boat dock in Newport, Jersey City so you can feel like you’re on a boat, without being on a boat}. This venue can fit up to 200 people, so it’s a great size for most wedding guest lists.
