While there is SO much to do in Hoboken and Jersey City, we’re lucky enough to have such easy and quick access to New York City. So when you feel like venturing outside of Hudson County, you can hop on the PATH for a 20-minute ride max — and you’ll never imagine what you can discover in New York City. In our newest PATH-stop exploration, we’re showing you the best places to eat, drink, shop, and explore near the 14th Street PATH station in New York City. 14th Street is a station located at the intersection of 14th Street and Sixth Avenue in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. Here are a few fun things to do if you find yourself there after work or on a weekend:

Fresh is full of luxurious skincare and beauty products, including their cult-favorite sugar lip treatment. We love their Sugar Face Polish {made of real sugar and strawberry seeds}, and their Rose Face Mask {infused with real rose petals}. They have a big sink in the store for you to try their products, including their Cocoa Body Exfoliant that smells like brownie batter.

LUSH Union Square {28 E 14th Street}

Yes, we know there’s one at Newport, but honestly, you can smell the fruity, sweet aroma of LUSH all the way down the block {and it will draw you in}. LUSH employees are always eager to give customers a free hand treatment or provides samples of their latest products; ask them to show you their Salted Coconut hand scrub {trust}. Feel-good bonus: Many of their products are cruelty-free, self-preserving, and/or vegan.

Union Square Park is about a ten-minute walk from the 14th Street PATH station. Depending on the day, you can enjoy farmer’s market, art vendors, musicians, and pop-up shops. The park has lots of shaded benches and is a great place for people-watching. Check out the Citi Summer in the City series of free events and activities in the park.

Barnes & Noble Union Square {33 E 17th St}

Check out the event schedule at Barnes & Noble Union Square and meet some celebrity authors at one of their free events. Recent speakers include Emily Giffin, Chelsea Clinton, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Washington Square Park {5 Avenue, Waverly Place, W. 4 Street, and Macdougal Street}

It’s technically closer to the 9th street PATH station, but Washington Square Park is only a fifteen-minute walk from 14th. Not only will you find entertaining street performers at this gorgeous park, but lots of nearby, inexpensive restaurants that cater to the NYU crowd. One of our favorites is by CHLOE. {185 Bleeker Street}.

Places for {Above Average} Groceries

Just remember to bring a reusable tote bag, and don’t buy more than you can carry home.
