On the busiest street of Hoboken lies a hidden gem that, if not paying close attention, could easily be missed. Thumbelina, located at 207 Washington Street, is one of the cutest little boutiques we ever did see. We made a stop by this floral shop/jewelry store combo and are sharing all the deets — check it out below:
Atmosphere
More like the size of a loft apartment, Thumbelina is on the smaller side in terms of the physical space it occupies, but the owners have mastered the ability to pack the store with a variety of merchandise —while still maintaining a chic, homey vibe. Alice Pi, one of the owners who runs the shop with her mother, Sarah Pi, greeted us, asking if we needed any help with our purchases. She assured us that she was there to answer any questions and was very attentive throughout the visit.

Thumbelina is a good Washington Street option to buy a gift for any decor or jewelry-loving babe in your life. The store has beautiful floral arrangements that are either pre-made or made on-the-spot, with mini floral assortments planted {pun intended} outside the storefront for your apartment’s decor-needing consumption. These bouquet beauties are filled with bright, vibrant flowers for around $12 each. When you head inside, you’ll find a bookshelf filled with succulent plants of all sizes in adorable ceramic pots with various quotes and drawings on them — making giving a plant as a gift both eco-friendly and fun. The walls and shelves are lined with all kinds of rings, bracelets, and necklaces ranging in price from about $10-$35.
Trends to Catch
Being on trend is something we always look for in a new boutique and Thumbelina definitely delivered. Going green is always in style and Thumbelina certainly keeps the outdoors in mind. Pair one a succulent with sage green jewelry for a cute combo. For a bolder look, Thumbelina houses statement necklaces. And our favorite: Mini rings: Mix and match from the showcase of stackables, bringing a subtle hint of originality to any jewelry collection for not a lot of cash.
