The Uptown Hoboken retail scene is to see some changes over the coming weeks. The Margo Market concept store, located at 1102 Washington Street, had been a go-to clothing and jewelry shop for several years. The boutique closed as of February 15th, 2024, but opened a popular pop-up charm and permanent jewelry shop ‘Goldie’ by its same owners. The pop-up was located in the same location as the former storefront, only through June 2024. As of last weekend, Goldie closed its doors, ending the Margo Market era in the space. A new interior design furnishings retail shop is now coming to the space by a local interior designer, Antoinette Allande. Read on for everything we know about the new Antoinette Allande Interiors storefront coming to Hoboken, New Jersey.

A New Interiors Retail Space to Open

The Hoboken Girl team received exclusive information from Antoinette Allande Anderson, a local interior designer, that the former Margo Market/Goldie space will be opening as a design studio out of this location beginning July 1st. According to Antoinette, the shop will open around the 3rd week of July.

Antoinette is a longtime interior designer in Hoboken and its surrounding areas, doing projects (and was previously featured on our site here with a beautiful Scandinavian-inspired design she did for a client).

Her namesake company, Antoinette Allande Interiors, is a luxury residential design studio based in Hoboken. Antoinette has worked with a high-end clientele on large-scale multi-million dollar projects in NYC, The Hamptons, and Los Angeles for over a decade. Her design company provides a broad range of services that include home renovations of all types, decorating, and art consulting — with her style being recognized for combining vintage and new modern furnishings with contemporary art to achieve relaxed, layered, and eclectic interiors.

The Goldie Jewelry Studio’s Legacy

The newer venture from the Margo Market team was called Goldie Jewelry Studio — housed in the same location as the former Margo Market. The shop opened to fanfare in February and was quite popular ever since. The pop-up continued through mid-June 2024, and just closed as of last weekend.

Its owner, Maggie Emma, shared a heartfelt tribute to her followers, “When we opened the store SIX years ago, we had a vision to build and create a shop that supported independent designers and slow fashion. Over the years, we received an outpouring of support and growth in this community that far exceeded our biggest dreams.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to you for being a part of The Margo Market family. Your support and enthusiasm has helped to make our shop what it is today.”

The Margo Market was a concept store created by longtime Hoboken resident Maggie Emma. The boutique was located at 1102 Washington Street in Hoboken from 2018-2024. A concept store, according to Maggie, is “a shop that sells carefully curated and a unique selection of products that connect to an overarching theme. They are meant to be inspirational for the customer, being more about discovery, and the experience. Concept stores evoke a lifestyle that appeals to a specific target audience, versus big box retail, fast fashion, and counting the customer as another transaction.”

With an emphasis on Scandinavian style and a Bohemian vibe that’s complemented by lots of textures and of course, lots of plants, Margo Market was a one-of-a-kind experience.
