And just like that, July comes to an end. But worry not, Hoboken and Jersey City will forever have you covered with endless specials, happy hours, and events. August is already off to an exciting start here in Hudson County – from a jazz jam session and ’90s throwbacks to National Night Out and delicious peach pie, you’ll be ready to welcome the new month with open arms. Here’s what’s in store for you this week with the best Hoboken and Jersey City happy hours:

Monday – July 31st

Live Music + Drink Specials at Village Pourhouse {Hoboken}

On Monday from 9PM – 12AM, Village Pourhouse will be hosting live acoustic music with Gerry Rosenthal. This week, their featured musician is Randy Morton. Along with $3 beer specials, get buy-one-get-one on any menu item, and $2 canned beer + 50 cent wings.

Jazz Jam Session at The Brightside Tavern {Jersey City}

In JC on Monday, The Brightside Tavern will have a jazz jam session from 7:30PM – 10:30PM. There’s no cover charge, which is a steal since over 15 artisits will be performing. If you want to begin your Monday-funday earlier, start with weekday brunch at 11:30AM. Try out their amazing brunch drink special — the loaded Bloody Mary with bacon, olives, celery, dill pickle, and jerky straws {$9} — or their brunch deal for $20 {any brunch entree with 3 mimosas or Bloody Marys}.

Tuesday – August 1st

National Night Out at Church Square Park {Hoboken}

Celebrate National Night Out in Hoboken with the Stevens and Hoboken police departments. The night is an annual event dedicated to honoring crime prevention, also know as “American’s Night Out Against Crime”. The event will take place at Church Square Park from 5PM – 9PM. Participate in family activities, enjoy hot dogs from Callahans Hot Dog Truck, and free milkshakes from Birch. There will be games, entertainment, giveaways, local businesses – the whole works. Artists at LITM {Jersey City}  

AXIS School of Dance

At LITM from 7PM – 11PM, the Powerpop Trio {Kayt Hester, Robert Piersanti, and Joe Waks} will be displaying new works of art that show off their signature styles. The event will have music by DJ Dancing Tony, $6 drinks specials, and a full dinner + bar menu. If you swing by earlier, LITM’s happy hour runs from 5PM – 7PM with $5 martinis + house wines along with $4 beers. They’re also celebrating Taco Tuesday with three tacos for $10 and other specials on margaritas, Coronas, and Tecates.

Wednesday – August 2nd

Trivia Night at Pilsener Haus {Hoboken}  

No reason for a mid-week slump, head over to Pilsener Haus on Wednesday night from 8PM – 11PM for free trivia. Late night happy hour goes from 10PM – 11PM with $5 select kitchen specials and $5 house cocktails until closing. Other specials include half-off mussels from open – 11PM and their daily brat + beer for $13 until 7PM.

Summer Mixer at the Liberty House Restaurant {Jersey City}

The Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey’s Young Lawyers Division is hosting a summer mixer at the Liberty House Restaurant from 6:30PM – 9:30PM. Thursday – August 3rd

Yoga on the Pier at Pier 13 {Hoboken}

Having a stressful week? Then, this is the event for you. Pier 13 and the Hudson Yoga Project are holding yoga on the pier this Thursday with a vinyasa class {all-levels} from 7PM – 8PM. You’ll also receive a free drink ticket, so make sure you register. Note: this event is BYOM {bring your own mat}. Pier 13 is also having their Thirsteen Thursday specials with $13 for all bottles of sangria and punches, and $13 for buckets of Narragansett lager.

Deep House Grooves at Red at Raval {Jersey City}

At 9PM, Red at Raval in JC is hosting their music packed Thursday nights with house music and an underground scene with tunes by Sleepy + Boo, Tommy Conboy, and Carrera. Stop in for happy hour from 4PM – 7PM to grab half-off tapas and $5 house wine, draft beers, sangria + well drinks.

Friday – August 4th

’90s Tribute Night at Maxwell’s Tavern {Hoboken}

Who doesn’t enjoy a good ’90s throwback? At Maxwell’s on Friday from 8PM – 12AM, rock out to your favorite ’90s alternative music with Incubus, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Audioslav tribute bands. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Signature Beers at Departed Soles Brewing Co. {Jersey City}

Downtown Community Church is hosting an end-of-the-week get together at Departed Soles Brewing Company. Enjoy food, drinks, and games from 5PM – 9PM and grab one of Departed Sole’s signature beers, brewed right in downtown JC. Choose from one of their many selections — they also have craft options that are 100% gluten free.

Saturday – August 5th

Bombers Rugby Football Club Social and The Dubliner {Hoboken}

The Bayonne Bombers Rugby Football Club is hosting a social to kick-off their season at The Dubliner from 2PM – 5PM on Saturday. Specials will include $17 Corona and Corona Light buckets, Capri Sun cocktails, and more. But if you feel like brunchin’ on Saturday, The Dubliner has free pancakes from 11AM – 1PM on the rooftop.

NJ Summer Jam at Fiesta Grill {Jersey City}

Summer is full of live music but this is one event you should definitely have on your list. The New Jersey Summer Jam 2017 has a nice lineup of artists and will start at 6PM at Fiesta Grill. You can purchase tickets here. Fiesta Grill is known for their unique Filipino dishes like La Paz Batchoy and other authentic foods like kare-kare, pinakbet, BBQ, sinigang, and more. It’s definitely a can’t-miss.

Sunday – August 6th

Clemson Family Day at House of ‘Que {Hoboken}

Are you a Clemson alum or current/future student? From 12:30PM – 3PM at House of ‘Que, the NYC + Tri-State Area Clemson Club will be hosting their annual Family Day and Student Send Off. They’ll be celebrating Clemson pride with great food and drink specials, so be sure to grab your ticket here. Even if you’re not part of the Clemson family, House of ‘Que still has a fun packed Sunday with live music by Robert Matarazzo from 12PM – 3PM. It’s a Sunday BBQ at its finest.

Perfect Peach Pie Contest {Jersey City}

Riverview Farmers Market’s 6th Annual Perfect Peach Pie Contest is this Sunday {and yes, you get to taste the pies}. Enjoy activities, crafts, music, and vendors from 10AM – 3PM at Riverview-Fisk Park. If you want to show off your peach pie and register for the contest, click here. If you decide to participate last minute, you can still register on the day-of up until 11:30AM. It’s the perfect family-friendly event to complement your Sunday.
