It’s pumpkin season ya’ll {and has been, for a month or so already}. And in case you’re still not sick of it, we’re diving in {now that the weather is finally cooperating}, and it’s time to eat the best pumpkin dishes that Jersey City has to offer. If you’re suddenly jonesing for pumpkin everything {and how could you not with the pumpkin snacks/desserts/beverage displays in every place around the area}, we’ve got the scoop on where to dine, no matter what you’re craving. Since we already covered Hoboken’s best pumpkin treats, here is where to get pumpkin-inspired treats around Jersey City:

Bistro La Source, Jersey City: A short walk from Exchange Place and great for a happy hour drink {or two}, enjoy the outdoor seating here while feasting on homemade pumpkin ravioli with brown butter, sage and pine nuts and delicious bevvies from the wine & cocktail list.

Torico Ice Cream, Jersey City: Our favorite neighborhood ice cream shop features {of course} pumpkin pie ice cream year-round, which tastes just like {chilled} pumpkin pie filling. Top it off with some rainbow sprinkles, and you’re good to go.

Tsujita

WHOS Gluten Free: You may have heard about this bakery on Mallory Street to get all things gluten-free, {and if you haven’t, check out our feature here}, and, happily, this is also a great place to get your pumpkin fix. Check out the homemade granola blends {featuring paleo and vegan options}, all made with pumpkin seeds and a combination of sunflower seeds, agave, walnuts, rolled oats, and much more. For something sweeter, don’t miss out on the Pumpkin Spice cupcake, made with pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice and topped off with mascarpone cheese frosting {drooling}.

Hobbs Inc

Cocoa Bakery: Featuring cookies, cakes and a variety of baked goods for any occasion, this bakery on Grand Street has miniature pumpkin whoopie pies this season {the mini means you can eat more of them, right?} as well as our favorite standby, pumpkin pie. Don’t forget to also check out the pumpkin walnut cake truffles, a delicious combination of cake and frosting blended together and then rolled in cookie crumbs {think cake pop, but better}.

Check out the pumpkin tart {available starting November 1st} and delicious, creamy pumpkin soup made in house {which also happens to be vegan!}.

Roman Nose: Our go-to place for fresh and delicious Italian food, Roman Nose gets on board with the fall theme this season by offering delicious butternut squash dishes {ok, not pumpkin, but still in the gourd family} – check out their Zucca pizza {available year-round} made with squash, homemade mozzarella and pancetta topped with a maple glaze. Also new for this fall is the Rigatoni alla Zucca, featuring a roasted butternut squash puree in a brown butter and sage sauce, with parmigiano and toasted hazelnuts. Pair it with Dogfish Head Pumpkin Ale {available on tap} and you’re all set.
