A Brooklyn-based restaurant that is centered around lobster, lobster rolls, lobster pasta, and lobster mac is coming to Hoboken at 732Washington Street. On August 10th, 2020, corporate partners of the new franchise BK Lobster announced that they will be opening their second New Jersey location in the Mile Square via an Instagram video from the restaurant’s account. The grand opening date will be on May 7th.
“I am super duper excited to get this started with my corporate partners. They brought it over the bridge to Jersey. This is our plan to expand the brand and take Brooklyn everywhere,” says owner and founder Rodney Bonds in the Instagram video.
About BK Lobster
BK Lobster is a fast-casual-meets-upscale restaurant serving — as you could imagine — lots of lobster. The first location opened at 535 Nostrand Avenue at Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn in 2019. Since then, the restaurant has quickly gained popularity and has expanded its loyal following to Harlem, Prospect Heights, Clinton Hill, Williamsburg, Elizabeth, and now Hoboken.

Bonds decided to take his franchise experience and invest in his own business. “With all of my restaurant franchise experience, I decided to fill a void and create an opportunity in Brooklyn to create the concept, ‘BK Lobster,’ the lobster roll shop from Brooklyn to beyond,” he stated in a press release. “BK Lobster is uniquely positioned in the fast-casual arena, and we know that residents will love our approach to serving quick lobsters in a luxurious setting.”

The menu emphasizes a variety of lobster rolls, with imported lobster from Maine.
The signature lobster rolls are all named after the neighborhoods around the borough. The Bed-Stuy Biggie roll was inspired by the legendary rapper Notorious B.I.G. Others include the Crown Heights Roll, Bay Ridge Roll, Flatbush Roll, and the Brownsville Roll.

For something a little more filling, there are seafood dishes like the fried lobster skewers that come with seasoned fries or golden waffles. Other dishes include salmon cakes, fried shrimp, lobster alfredo pasta, lobster mac + cheese, lobster-loaded fries, soups, salads, and more.
Lobster in Hoboken
BK Lobster joins other local eateries that serve lobster in a more formal fashion — including Court Street and soon-to-open Sirenetta Seafood + Rawbar owned by Gabi Lombardi, of Sorellina. In Jersey City, Just Be Claws, The Boil, and Hooked JC take the seafood claim to fame, and more recently, a new venture from Lighthorse Tavern was born out of a need for outdoor dining space — Lobster Garage. In no time, they had transformed its unused garage into this booming go-to spot for a delicious lobster roll {among other lobster and seafood-focused menu items}.
With the opening of BK Lobster in Hoboken, Mile Square residents won’t have to trek to Jersey City as often for their lobster fix.

On April 5th, a new event will make its debut in Hoboken, and this one is all about raising awareness while enjoying all of the foodie fun our Mile Square city has to offer. Enter the first-ever Hoboken Foodie Fest — a celebration of community, creativity, and spreading Autism awareness + acceptance, complete with good eats, live music, a book drive, and more. What is The Foodie Fest?
The Foodie Fest in support of Autism Awareness + Acceptance Month will take place on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 from 2PM-7PM on Garden Street between 4th and 5th Streets in Hoboken. The event is being organized by The Foodie Goddess and What Hoboken Sounds Like, and is sponsored by the Hoboken Business Alliance.

The Foodie Goddess, also known as local resident + mom Amanda Dale, is also the Vice President and Director of Creative Culinary Content at What Hoboken Sounds Like — a Hoboken nonprofit "on a mission for inclusivity & diversity," per its Instagram bio. This brand-new event is close to Amanda's heart, as she is a mom to a child with Autism.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would come to life—The Foodie Fest is officially happening! This event is so much more than amazing food; it's a celebration of community, creativity, and causes close to my heart. With incredible food vendors serving up their amazing dishes and a book drive to support families within our community, we're bringing people together to feed both minds and stomachs. As a mom to a child with Autism, this event is also a platform to spread Autism Awareness/Acceptance and foster inclusion, showing the beauty of acceptance in every corner of our lives. This means the world to me, and I can't wait to share it with all of you. Let's make it unforgettable!"

So, what can Hoboken locals expect from The Foodie Fest? The event will include a variety of food vendors and food trucks, live music from DJ Bripee, as well as a kids' book drive. The organizers will be collecting new or gently-used children's books, which can be dropped off at the check-in stand during the event.
While all of the food vendors have not been announced as of this writing, one local restaurant attendees can expect to see at the event is Hoboken + Jersey City's gtk. This post will be updated as more details are announced.
