October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and with that brings forth the INCREDIBLE events local businesses and organizations put together to support the fight. Sadly, 1 in 8 women will be affected by breast cancer in her lifetime and almost every woman knows someone who has had or currently has the disease.
We’ve compiled a growing list of the latest Hoboken & Jersey City events in support of helping to find a cure …❤️ We hope that you’ll join us in the fight!
Local Barre’s Barre for Boobies: All Month Long
Local Barre is supporting the fight against breast cancer the entire month of October & you can join them in any of the following ways:
1. Breast Friends – Invite a friend to attend class with you and LB will reward you both with a free class!
2. Do It For the Girls – A mobile mammography unit will make a visit to the LB and will be accompanied by drinks, a complimentary tank top, and mammo manis! If you can’t make it, you can still purchase a ‘DO IT FOR THE GIRLS’ tank top and the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

3. Make It a Pair – If you purchase two classes for $50, LB will donate $2 to the American Cancer Society.
4. The Hookup – Host a ladies night at Local Barre {$400 off their regular rate!} and they’ll set you up with your own BarreTender, sticky socks, apps, and champagne for your entire group!
5. Barre For Boobies – This month the ladies of Local Barre will take over the pier to host a class and raise money for the American Cancer Society. A $50 donation will secure your spot and include LB swag.

Yoga For a Cause at Athleta: Every Sunday
Hudson Yoga Project and Athleta have teamed up this month to bring you ‘Yoga For A Cause’ — a {free} donation based yoga class every Sunday morning {9:30AM} at Hoboken’s Athleta store. All donations will benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation and you can reserve your spot by calling 201-653-4101. Can’t make it but still want to donate?? Visit Athleta at any time with your donation and you’ll receive a petal to add to their sisterhood lotus.
The Tutu Project: October-November 3rd
Throughout the month of October, The Tutu Project, wants you to #Dare2Tutu! Their newest fundraising campaign is asking people across the world to wear a tutu, take a photo, upload it to social media with the hashtag #Dare2Tutu, and donate! Favorite photos and stories will be featured daily across their social media. Help them reach their $50,000 fundraising goal by donating here or email hello@thetutuproject.com with any questions.

Dina’s Kiss & Makeup: All Month Long
Throughout the month of October, Dina’s Kiss and Makeup is selling Elvis Duran lipsticks and 50% of proceeds will go towards breast and ovarian cancer research. Find her lovely little shop at 57 Newark Street in Hoboken.
3 Check-ins at Eyeshapes: All Month Long
The entire month of October, Eyeshapes is partnering with Bright Pink and Causely to support breast cancer awareness. Every THREE check-ins gives one woman access to a breast and ovarian cancer risk assessment…all you have to do is check in on Facebook and add the hashtag #breastcancerawreness to your posts! Eyeshapes is located at 259 1st Street in Hoboken.

Riverside Realty’s Annual Fundraiser: Saturday October 8th
Riverside Realty is hosting a night of pasta, drinks, music, and raffles in an effort to fight breast cancer! Breast Cancer Brunch: Sunday, October 16th
Handbags of Hope Exchange asks that you please join them for a very special brunch! Dress up in your favorite floral and derby hat and enjoy an afternoon of Southern charm, rosé all day, mint juleps, vendors, prizes, and most importantly, giving back! Treasured Chests: Friday, October 21st
Wicked Wolf will host a fundraiser to benefit breast cancer awareness on Friday, October 21st! Sidewalk University’s Breast Cancer Walk: Sunday, October 23rd

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is coming to Jersey City on Sunday, October 23rd. Registration will begin promptly at 8:00AM for this 3 mile walk and will begin at the Newport Plaza. The Bar Method is hosting THREE donation based classes to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness. Interested?? Simply sign up here for one of the following classes — Saturday, October 29th at 11:15AM and Sunday, October 30th at 12:30PM & 4:00PM.
