  • Brunettes and Blondes Have Equal Amounts of Fun {Thanks to Ashley Branda}

    If you met me a few years ago, you’d never think that I would do anything with my hair but keep it totally straight. Then, Ashley, of Rebellations salon came into my life. She has helped me get over my fear of highlights, hair dye, and curling irons.

    In the past year or so, I’ve gone from ombre to balayage to dark to light…and with each hair color, I love it more than the last!ย Going blonde is on my bucket list, so I have slowly been working my way to that in the last year or so. We’ll see if I ever get there – I have super light skin, so I’m not sure that I could go BLONDE blonde. Plus, dying your hair a lot isn’t exactly healthy.

    Regardless, I thought I’d share a few of the highlights (no pun intended) of my hair journey with Ash over the past year. Excuse the obnoxious amount of selfies- they’re really just to show you the changes!

    And no, she didn’t pay me to say this. I just love her – and think she deserved a mention for all of the fabulous phases she’s been through with me and my hair!

    …she’s the best.

    And while we’re at it, which is your favorite hair color on yours truly? I really can’t decide.

She started the site 5 years ago to discover the wealth of fun things happening in Hoboken and Jersey City and surrounding Hudson County areas. When not planning the next Hoboken Girl event or #HobokenGirlHelps volunteer project, she can usually be found shopping at local Hoboken + Jersey City boutiques, eating an Insta-worthy meal, walking her French bulldog Pierre, or watching some really bad {but oh-so-good} reality TV and ordering takeout with her husband.

    • Hi Hoboken girl…..I have a few questions in regard to Ashley….does she handpaint your ombre or does she use foils? I have been going to NY for highlights for the past 10 years and my colorist recently left to move to CA, I have been searching for someone really fantastic with color in NJ so I don’t have to keep going to NY, but everytime I go to someone in Jersey they completely make my color a disaster….Is ashley totally amazing? I need some real true advice from someone that has seen her color work on others too…Has she done people you know? Let me now your thoughts any advice would be appreciated…..my direct number too is 201-841-7418….Thank you!
