Most girls would probably agree with the infamous Audrey Hepburn quote, “Paris is always a good idea.” However, most of us also can’t just jet off to Paris at a moments notice. As the French would say, “C’est la vie” {that’s life}. There’s no need to develop #FOMO though, because we’ve rounded up 3 places where you can find a tiny piece of Paris right here in Hoboken!

La Bouche Cafe {103 Garden Street}

Hobbs Inc

This little French gem at the corner of Garden and 1st will truly make you feel like you’ve just stepped out of Hoboken …and right into a French café. The décor is incredibly charming, and it’s safe to say they have delicious coffee, tea, and lattes! The mocha latte is out-of-this-world—it’s like hot chocolate for adults {with a kick, of course}. The menu is perfectly balanced — offering omelets and eggs benedict to french toast and classic pastries. There is truly something for everyone, but we recommend the smoked salmon eggs benedict. The eggs are poached and placed on top of a flaky, croissant-like bread which will have you saying je t’aime to a plate of eggs, fo’ realz. Trust that this place will soon become your new Sunday morning brunch spot.

Choc O Pain {157 1st Street}

If you’re really looking to channel your inner Audrey H, head over to Choc O Pain for the best chocolate croissant in Hoboken. If you’re feeling adventurous, the almond version is even better than the original. Sweets not your thing? No problem! They also have a quiche Lorraine that would give Julia Child a run for her money. Pro tip: go with a friend so that you can spilt the quiche and a pastry {or two} because it’s going to be hard to choose between carb treats.

Luckily, the food isn’t the only thing that makes you feel like you’re in Paris. The atmosphere has a certain “je ne sais quoi” vibe — complete with French music playing in the background. If you’re looking for something else to Instagram besides macaroons {they definitely have those too}, then be sure to check out their adorably decorated DIY bookshelf made from old crates in the back corner {above!}.

Brasserie de Paris {700 1st Street}

Unless you’re a resident at the Sky Club, you probably had no clue that the Brasserie de Paris existed until this moment. It’s a hidden gem of a restaurant right on the edge of town — below the Sky Club building at 700 1st Street. The restaurant is owned by a Frenchman, and it shows: the ambiance and service provide a truly authentic French experience.

Upon entering, you’ll be greeted in French — which adds to the vibe de français. Start your evening with their famous french onion soup {you won’t be disappointed with its cheesy goodness!}, and then move on to the “Poulet au Jus de Truffles” for dinner.  Of course, Oui can’t forget about dessert (see what I did there?). You have to try the crème brulee! Words can’t describe how good it is! This place is perfect for your next date night or girl’s night out. I promise, it’s worth the splurge. Treat yourself! La joie de vivre, absolument!
