A mile north of Hoboken, on the border of Weehawken and Union City, lies Clarity Fitness at 3515 Park Avenue. It’s the sole boutique fitness studio in town and a breath of fresh air — with its clean space, amazing workouts and welcoming atmosphere. Here’s a bit more about this Hudson County gym:

Open the door to the boutique space and you’ll find a small but super cute sitting area and front desk check in. They do take walk-ins 1{5 minutes before start-time} as long as there’s still room available, but because classes are capped off to ensure no one is too cramped to move around comfortably, we definitely recommend making a reservation online first.

With five different workouts to choose from, there’s something for everyone and plenty of options to keep your mind and body from getting bored by the same regimen. Class options currently include HIIT {High Intensity Interval Training}, Barre, Cycle, Reggae Dance, and Fusion {a blend of Pilates and strength/core training}. Our suggestion? Grab a new member 5 class pass for $39 and try out each one. The prices are crazy-affordable {$15 per class, with pack options that can bring the individual class down to $10 each}. The schedule is very accommodating to the 9-5 crowd, while still offering a smattering of later morning classes if your schedule if more flexible.

Inside class, you’ll find a workout crew that ranges from true beginners to seasoned veterans {honestly, your mom would be just as comfortable at a Barre class as your ballet-trained bestie — the staff and students are that welcoming}. All equipment is provided, they just ask that you come in with sneakers and proper workout apparel.

The owner Melissa, who runs the studio and also teaches classes, successfully walks the fine line with her staff between pushing you to do your best and encouraging you to go at your own pace and modify exercises when necessary. They’re also very open to suggestions and recommendations, and regularly adjust class times to meet the needs of their customers, so if you’ve got ideas, don’t be afraid to speak up!

After sweating and pushing your way through 45-60 minutes of an intense workout, the piece de resistance comes in the cool down — soothing music and stretches are followed up by a meditation-like minute where a chilled eucalyptus-infused towel is placed on your forehead and closed eyes. It’s literally the most calming and gratifying end to a workout and instantly leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of your day.
