Shake things up with Dad this Father’s Day and show your very first #1 guy your real adulting skills. If you’re crafty behind the bar, try your hand at one of these three DIY recipes — a fun boozy dessert drink, a classic Old Fashioned, and a chilled + citrusy Hemmingway Daiquiri {the second + third pair perfectly with cigars}. And if you’re better at ordering drinks than making them, head on over to one of the Dad’s Day events happening in Hoboken + JC. Whatever you plans, enjoy these places to go or cocktails to make on Father’s Day!

Old Fashioned

Keep it classy on Father’s Day with this classic whiskey cocktail.

yoga renew hoboken

2 oz. Bourbon Whiskey
2-3 dashes Orange Angostura Bitters
Sugar Cube
Club Soda

Add sugar cube and bitters to a mixing glass and muddle until sugar is dissolved. Add whiskey, splash of club soda, ice and stir until chilled. Strain over fresh ice in Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with orange peel.

Hemingway Daiquiri

We’re not talking frozen drinks and tiki umbrellas here, this iconic cocktail was enjoyed by none other than Ernest Hemingway. Even better, gift Dad his favorite cigar to enjoy alongside this rum-based cocktail.

2 oz Dark Rum
½ oz Maraschino Liqueur
¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
½ oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice

Shake all ingredients with ice and double strain into chilled coupe glass. Garnish with grapefruit peel.
