Nothing says fall in Hoboken like sipping a cup of coffee on a crisp, blue-skied day — especially when that drink has cinnamon, maple, or pumpkin involved. So we took to the streets to get the inside scoop on a local coffee shop that recently opened a second location in Hoboken and launched a new line of fall drinks, just in time for PSL season. Keep reading for an inside look at the new Fall menu at MOJO Coffee.
The Backstory
MOJO Coffee opened its first location at 230 Willow Avenue in June 2020. MOJO is owned and operated by Hoboken native + coffee lover Jess Nisler, who was passionate about creating a place for neighbors and friends to connect. The mission in opening MOJO Coffee was to create a vibrant cafe that inspires everyone who walks through the door.
The shops are cozy and modern with an airy environment. Jess has created a cohesive MOJO experience, while incorporating some unique aspects into each store. The playful patterns mixed with the exposed brick wall, give the spaces an eclectic vibe that we’re obsessed with.
“We offer an elevated coffee experience for our customers by using quality products and providing great customer service. We spent countless hours sourcing, taste testing, and getting to know the people behind the businesses we use,” Jess told Hoboken Girl. “People are at the core of MOJO and I wanted MOJO to feel like an extension of our neighborhood, which you see through our brownstone branding. We see a lot of the same people (and their pups!) every day, and watching a community develop through MOJO has been really rewarding.”
After months of renovations and preparations, the second MOJO Coffee officially opened its doors in June. Located at 801 Bloomfield Street, this new spot has a similar vibe to the original location. It features the same exciting menu so you can be sure to get your favorites close by, no matter where you’re at in Hoboken. The Bloomfield Street location has a large retail wall, curated with some of Jess’ favorite items like granola, nut butters, and MOJO’s own chocolate drizzled popcorn. Signature drinks include the customer favorite Coconut Cold Brew and the Funfetti Latte, which debuted for MOJO’s second anniversary on June 3rd.
“The Funfetti Latte was so popular we decided to keep it on our summer menu. It tastes just like a Mister Softee but our version is approved for breakfast,” Jess mentioned. “We’re excited to launch a Fall Spin on this customer favorite: the Fall-Fetti Latte. It’s an iced maple latte with our signature cold foam + fall themed sprinkles we know customers will love.”
The New Fall Menu
It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t love a good fall-inspired drink, which is why we’re obsessed with the new menu of yummy drinks at MOJO Coffee. Launching this week, customers can enjoy three new drinks, available all season long.
Pumpkin Pie Latte and Cold Brew: Available as both hot and iced drinks, this fall favorite has pumpkin pie spice with hints of chai for the perfect combination of sweet and spicy.
Fall-Fetti Latte: This iced maple latte features MOJO Coffee’s signature cold foam + fall sprinkles for an added touch of seasonal whimsy.
Cinnamon Swirl Latte: At first sip, it tastes just like a fresh-out-of-the-oven cinnamon bun, topped with whipped cream + cinnamon sugar.
The Maple Latte and Cold Brew are technically fall flavors too, but they are so popular that they are on the MOJO menu all year long. Other items available year round include their Coconut Joy Latte, must-try Everything Croissant with scallion cream cheese, and specialty drinks like Masala Chai Latte + Hibiscus Iced Tea. You can top off your order with baked goods like coffee cake, muffins, croissants, and the nostalgic homemade pop tarts which are only available on Wednesdays. MOJO merchandise is also available for purchase including bags of coffee, tote bags, t-shirts, and more.

There’s a Chicken Wing Contest for Charity Coming to Hoboken on 2/1
After a five-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Hoboken's chicken wing contest is making a return in 2025. Hosted by St. Francis Church and benefitting Fr. Michael Food Pantry, 11 restaurants from around the Mile Square (and one in Jersey City) will compete for the title of "King of Wings." The event will take place on Saturday, February 1st from 6PM-10PM at the Hoboken Elks Club, located at 1005 Washington Street. Event Details
A Wing + A Prayer — a popular Hoboken event that was last held in February of 2020 — will make its return to the Mile Square on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, with proceeds benefiting the Fr. Michael Food Pantry at St. Francis Church. Per a press release, the event will be held from 6PM to 10PM at the Hoboken Elks Club, located at 1005 Washington Street.

So, how does the event work? Eleven restaurants from around Hoboken and Jersey City will be showcasing their chicken wings in a people's choice competition to crown the "best wings in Hoboken." The participating restaurants are as follows:

- Dark Side of the Moo | 52 Bowers Street, Jersey City
- Farside Tavern | 531 Washington Street

- Johnny Pepperoni | 219 11th Street
- Madd Hatter | 221 Washington Street
- Madison Bar + Grill | 1316 Washington Street
- Tony Boloney’s | 263 1st Street
Those in attendance will vote for their favorite wings, and the winning restaurant gets to take home the trophy to be held at their restaurant until the next event.
The organizers shared with The Hoboken Girl that the pantry provides monthly groceries to families in need, and that the proceeds from this event will help bring back the daily sandwich program.
