If you were following HG on Instagram in January, you already know The Drybar is coming to Hoboken, and we’ve got an exciting update to share — it’s opening THIS Friday, June 15th at 7:00AM. The popular blowout bar announced earlier this year that it is opening a location in Hoboken at 218 Washington Street {where the old Radio Shack was located}. The company announced its expansion to over 20 cities on Instagram on New Year’s Day, making blowout enthusiasts all over the United States enjoy a VERY happy first day of 2018. Fast forward to five months later, we are just days away from the opening. Read on to see why we love Dry Bar + for the deets on the Hoboken location:

The blowout bar concept was created by Alli Webb, a professional hairstylist trained by Toni & Guy, who in 2008 had started a side hustle called “Straight-at-Home” where she did in-home blowouts for friends. She decided to realize her dream and took the concept to a salon, which would later become Drybar. The company now has 70+ locations across the country, and appears to be adding almost two dozen more to their growing hair empire.

Named one of the top “100 Brilliant Ideas of 2010” by Entrepreneur Magazine, Drybar is based on the simple concept of focusing on blowouts and nothing else — for a reasonable price {think: $35-$50 depending on style}. Since that time, many other blowout bars have popped up around town and across the country after the OG. Because you know, good hair is life.

The “Bar” — complete with rom com movies playing all the day long

If you’ve never been to Drybar {or any blowout bar for that matter}, here’s the sitch:
– You get a menu of blowout styles {which has cutesy names like “Cosmo,” “Mai Tai,” or “Manhattan”}
– Your “bartender” aka stylist brings you back to the washing station
– You get shampooed and conditioned — and then brought back to the “bar”
– At the bar, they’re playing rom coms and they also usually serve some champagne
– Your bartender gets to work, making your blowout look damn fine
– And then you leave, fresh and ready for the day/night/whatever you felt the need to get a blowout for {seriously, we don’t judge — weekly blowouts can DEFinitely be a thing}.

Beyond hair services, Drybar is known for its sweet-smelling products in adorable bottles that are serious game changers, sold in places like Sephora and Nordstrom. Pro tip: Opt for the 3-in-1 for dry shampoo or The Chaser for shine. You *won’t* be disappointed.

And yes, while we already have several local blowout bars in Hoboken that we absolutely adore — as well as what seems like a zillion hair salons — as a proponent of good hair, we can’t say “no” to one more.
