Founded by pitmaster Hugh Mangum, this BBQ restaurant is about the experience just as much as it's about "quality BBQ." The design and vibe of Mighty Quinn's is rustic and warm.
Mighty Quinn's was all about a good smokey dish. Patrons could pick their meats and watch as everything was hand carved per order behind the counter. The meats are cooked with minimal spice, as the smokiness from the grill did most of the work.
Alongside the pork ribs and brisket, diners could find the Brontosaurus rib, pulled pork, chicken, and various sides on the menu like baked beans, mac + cheese, cornbread, coleslaw, and more. Mighty Quinn's had everything true BBQ aficionados appreciate. The two- and three-meat platters were great for sharing with two or three people, and most of the dishes were gluten-free.
Although the Hoboken outpost is now closed, Mighty Quinn's still has other locations in Clifton and Union, as well as New York City, Connecticut, and Florida. The Brooklyn store is temporarily closed as of this writing.
