Jersey City Heights has lost a longtime local haunt — The Fox & Crow announced its permanent closure as of February 2025. The bar had taken January "to rest and recharge," posting on its social media about a winter break. On Thursday, February 6, 2025, it announced permanence of the closure.
Back in early January, The Fox & Crow posted on its social media "Thank you to our incredible community for aother wonderful year! We are taking a winter break to rest and recharge this January. Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year!"
Locals flooded the comments, asking "will you reopen?" and "when are you reopening?" once it was posted.
Then, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, the social media account posted, "To our Jersey City community, the last 12 years has been a wonderful, wild ride. After long consideration, as a family we have decided it is time to move on to our next chapter and close the doors as the Fox and Crow." The message in full, below:

This spot had been a go-to for locals in the area for food, drinks, and music. If you found yourself there late-night and on the weekend, the back parlour boasted live music — with a variety of genres.
The front area was dimly lit with cozy, vintage style light bulbs hanging from the ceiling, wallpaper filled with bare-branches, and even a faux-stuffed fox nestled on one of the shelves keeping an eye over the bar.
If the comments section is any indication, it will be sorely missed on Palisade Ave.
We've reached out to its owners to get updates on their plans, and will update this story with any additional information. Follow @thehobokengirl on social media for more local news + happenings.
