We’ve got a wave of exciting events happening around Hudson County this weekend including a self-defense class, cocktails at The W Hotel, a NJ Foodie Fest, and plenty of Easter brunching and egg hunts for the kids. Open Doors are for Preschool (age 3) to Grade 8 and Campus Tours are for Grades 9-11. Head out to 389 Washington Blvd for Photographer Joe Velez’s exhibit: Vigil. ‘VIGIL’ is his first exhibition of photographs since taking up the art form. It includes prints from both digital and vintage film cameras. Whereas a painting is an accumulation of the time spent creating it, a photograph depicts an instant fraction of a second. Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Tally Ho: Friday, March 30th at 9:00PM

Jersey City Foodie Fest + NCAA Viewing Party: Saturday, March 31st from 5:00PM-2:00AM

Watch the Final Four NCAA tournament at the Harborside Atrium in Jersey City on 20-foot screens and tons of great food options. Silly on Sixth presents The Three Little Pigs and The Ugly Duckling: Saturday, March 31st at 11AM and 1PM

After 20+ joyful years, The Three Little Pigs &The Ugly Duckling will be Silly on Sixth’s final production. The 40-minute adapatation will take place at Hudson School Performance Space in Hoboken {601 Park Ave} and costs $10. Pinocchio at JCTC Kids: Through May 20th

Watch one of your favorite childhood classics live on stage at Jersey City Theater Center {339 Newark Ave}. Pinocchio by Puppetworks features hand-carved, wooden marionettes, original music, and vivid, colorful scenes ranging from the Undersea World, complete with a whale. Besides Pinocchio (and yes, the puppet’s nose actually grows on stage) and his creator/father, the kind Gepetto, the performance also includes the full retinue of familiar characters who accompany the puppet-boy – and his lie detector schnozzle – on his journey to become a real live boy: the Blue Fairy, Mr. Fox and Mr. Cat, the Ring Master and the Great Stromboli, the ultimate puppet master.Advance tickets/online sales: $9 for children; $10 for adults.
