Happy 2018 — officially! While the craziness of the holidays is behind us, winter storms are in full effect, and the temps have been seriously low outside, it’s time to relax {and find events and things to do inside}. Whether you want to get down on the dance floor, support kids in tech, or join the Liberty Humane Society for its monthly Yappy Hour, you can stay warm and enjoy your weekend too. CycleBar {720 Monroe} is having a charity ride this weekend to fight against childhood cancer. All money raised will go to the Four Diamonds Fund, which is an organization that provides financial assistance to help families with paying for expenses that come along with childhood cancer. Every donation comes with a raffle ticket. For those looking for a little friendly competition, top male and female riders will each receive a prize, valued at $65. Reserve your bike for a $30, $40, or $50 donation here.

JCTC Kids Presents Mishka Opening: Through January 13th

The children’s programming division of Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) presents an international tale bound to make any holiday season complete at Merseles Studios {339-345 Newark Avenue}. JCTC-KIDS Presents Shadow Theatre is a live, story-telling experience where fairytales, folklore and children’s literature from around the world are performed using shadow puppets – a form of puppetry that dates back to ancient times.
