Hello sunshine and hellooooo weekend. It’s time to plan out the next few days ahead, and luckily, there are a lot of fun evens happening in our area this weekend. Besides regular fun events happening, both Cinco De Mayo and the Kentucky Derby are this weekend, so we’ve got you covered with those parties, too. Jersey City Cinco de Mayo Food Truck Fest — Saturday, May 5th 12:00PM-6:00PM
If you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, then the Jersey City Food Truck Fest is a perfect fit. The festival will take place in the URBY parking lot directly across the street from the Harborside Lightrail stop in Jersey City from 12:00-7:30PM. The entire community is invited to this outdoor event — and admission is free for those 12 and under {and $5 for everyone else}. Women’s Wellness Event — Thursday, May 10th 6:00PM-8:00PM
The Palisades Women’s Group {located at 1499 Park Avenue in Hoboken} is helping local ladies take care of their health and wellness at their Women’s Wellness Event on Thursday, May 10th. With special guests, open discussions, gift baskets, and free parking, this event makes it fun and easy to get tons of valuable information about women’s health. This event is free to attend, but pre-registration is highly recommended. Hip NJ’s Fight Against Alzheimer’s Disease Gala — Thursday, May 3rd 6:30PM
Join Hip NJ for their 2018 gala, Celebrating New Jersey, in Cedar Grove for an evening of delicious food, a silent auction, and musical entertainment. Proceeds from the event will benefit Alzheimer’s New Jersey to help New Jersey residents who are affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Local stylist Danielle Mullins will be hosting Antique Bar & Bakery’s Putting on the Glitz drag show featuring Gloria Swansong and Gilda Wabbit. The Garden of Rikki Tikki Tavi at Mile Square Theatre {Running Through May 6th}
It’s the last weekend the Mile Square Theatre isn’t presenting public performances of its revival production of Y York’s The Garden of Rikki Tikki Tavi. Restaging its 2011 production for a new audience, MST is thrilled to reunite much of the creative team from the earlier production, including MST Artistic Director Chris O’Connor and actor Blaire Brooks {Bull, Blacklist} as Darzee the Tailor Bird. The cast includes MST regular Andrew Baldwin {Frog and Toad}, Cameron Blankenship {Lyric Rep}, and Arielle Legere {Princess K.I.M.}.
