Sad and sudden news in the Mile Square — beloved Fran’s Italian deli has closed as of Saturday, June 30th abruptly. Sources are sharing that it will reopen in the future as a Jersey Mike’s. Located at 202 Hudson Street, Fran’s has been a staple in Hoboken for years.
This past weekend, the owners left a sign in the window which said, “To Our Loyal Customers, Thank you for your Patronage over the years. Stay Tuned for Something New and Exciting. All the Best . . . Love Fran’s Deli & Staff”.
Known for its amazing mutz, paninis, and sandwiches, Fran’s was one of those spots that was perfect for a breakfast or lunch OR a full catering job.

The new spot slated to open is called Jersey Mike’s, an American sandwich chain headquartered in Manasquan, New Jersey. The Jersey Mike’s franchise has almost 1,300 locations open and about 70 more in development across the United States {probably worth it to mention about a block away from Jimmy John’s down the street}.
No word on when the new business will be opening, but we’ll keep you posted as we know more.
We’ll miss you, Fran’s!
