Once a Hoboken girl, always a Hoboken girl! And in Hoboken resident Jessica Cecere’s case — that includes on your wedding day. This recent Hoboken bride tied the knot and used décor that we all know quite well: table settings that were inspired by her and her new husband’s favorite streets in their favorite city.

After meeting Frank at Shannon Rose in Clifton where they both bartended in the summers, Jessica knew there was something special about their relationship — which quickly moved from coworkers to trusted friends. “I had already been bartending there, and Frank was hired during the summer of 2010. Pretty sure our favorite bartending shifts were when we were on together!” Finally in 2012, they decided to go on a date — and the rest is history.

The two got married on October 14, 2016 at Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington, followed by a wedding reception at the beautiful Crystal Plaza in Livingston. Jessica had attended Crystal Plaza twice before as a wedding guest, and loved it. “I just knew it was the perfect wedding venue for us; it was our first venue-shopping appointment, and we instantly fell in love.”

When it came to planning, the Mile Square had been a huge part of their relationship, so of course it was included in their big day. “We’ve been living here for a few years, got engaged here, and even had our unbelievably beautiful engagement shoot right on the waterfront. We didn’t want it to end there, and it just dawned on us one day to try out street signs,” Jessica explained. The result? A fun surprise for guests to find their table numbers for the receptions, which were street names of some Hoboken routes — instead of numbers!

“We wanted a romantic, beautiful, and elegant wedding, but we also wanted to add a personal touch and this was just the perfect balance. We thought it would be a great surprise for a guest to pick up their place card and see “Hudson Street” as opposed to “Table 5”. The guests loved the idea, among candelabras and dramatic elevated floral arrangements.

In true Hoboken style, the groom booked a luxury penthouse in the W for his groomsmen and Vito’s Deli catered their morning of getting ready {according to the bride, some of the Vito’s food made its way onto the party bus later that day}.

The newlyweds created a signature drink for guests to enjoy all night, seasonally inspired by their fall nuptials called “Appley-Ever-After” {a yummy fall concoction of caramel vodka and apple cider with a cinnamon stick garnish}. Alongside these martinis, cocktail hour included an entire bar made of ice serving shots and martinis and a raw bar entirely made of ice displaying delicious seafood. To end the evening, guests danced to “New York, New York” by, well, you know who!
