With summer around the corner, Hoboken’s annual Fitness in the Park events are almost here. Fitness in the Park gives residents a chance to try out workouts with local fitness studios, and the best part is – participation is free of charge. Read on to learn about the City of Hoboken’s summer 2026 Fitness in the Park events.
About Fitness in the Park
Fitness in the Park is an annual event held in Hoboken that includes free samples of workout programs led by local fitness studios. It is part of the city’s Summer Fun lineup, which includes the family-friendly Concerts in the Park and Movies Under the Stars programs as well.
For Fitness in the Park, participants are advised to wear loose-fitting clothing, sneakers, and bring equipment such as mats and water. In the event of inclement weather, it is recommended to contact the studio running the class to receive updates on alternative locations or dates.
In the past, Fitness in the Park has been held at Pier A Park, Southwest Park, and Northwest Resiliency Park. Some of the previous classes held included:
- Kickboxing with CKO Kickboxing
- Broadway Jazz with The Studio
- Spinal alignments, breathwork + more with Urban Souls Yoga
- A Pride-themed mat class with Ken Pilates
Fitness in the Park begins June 8th and runs through August 26th, bringing a variety of free outdoor fitness classes to residents throughout the summer. Led by local studios and instructors, classes include everything from yoga and Pilates to high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and other wellness-focused programs. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle, sneakers, and an exercise mat. The Summer Fun program is organized by the City’s Division of Cultural Affairs and Division of Recreation, and is sponsored in part by Colavita, Veolia, Ironstate, and ChooseNJ.
