We’re back with another Hoboken Fitness Review! This time: Local Barre {check out a past visit here}.

If you’re unfamiliar with barre, here is a definition:

  • Barre: Combines Pilates, yoga and ballet moves to give you beautiful, sculpted, lean muscles – without the impact and injuries dancers endure.

I have been to barre classes before, and wanted to try out the three studios that Local Barre runs in Hoboken. There is one downtown by the Path {which is the one I visited}, one on the west side of town in the Monroe Center, and one uptown at Maxwell Place. They are all different, but they all offer a killer workout {in a good way}. I tried the regular barre class, called Open Barre. Check out the schedule here and read about the different types of classes here.

I broke down the studio space and class below, but I want to start by saying that I really enjoyed my workout at Local Barre. It’s easy to become addicted to the class and it is really true what they say: After only 3 weeks, you’ll start to notice a difference in your body {if you go to barre class 2-3x a week}. It’s not an easy workout and it truly tests your muscle endurance. Afterwards, you’re left feeling strong and confident. Read more about barre here and check out my broken down review below:
