Hoboken Girl {Mani} Monday: A Visit to Tutti Nails

We’re back with another #HGManiMonday manicure spot uptown: Tutti NailsLocated in the new Maxwell Place {on Hudson between 11th and 12th street – 1119 Hudson Street to be exact}, Tutti Nails is definitely a rising hot spot.

Tutti Nails is different than other nail salons in Hoboken in that they have space on their side. The salon is rather large and even has a waiting area…with iPads! Most nail salons here are constrained to a trifling scope {due to the limited framework of older designs}. Tutti Nails is open and spacious, with fresh white walls and furniture, and provides a contemporary spa-like experience. If you’re looking for some maxin’ and relaxin,’ here is the latest scoop on the uptown gem.

Cleanliness.

Since opening approximately 6 months ago, the prevailing Hudson Street salon is definitely “Monica proof” {Friends reference}. Not only is the salon itself clean, but the nail services they provide are sanitarily performed with new tools. I immediately noticed their utensils were kept in plastic wrap, along with a fresh file and buffer. This always scores points in my book and is comforting that they conduct their manicures and pedicures with this standard.

Polish Brands & Selection.

Tutti Nails has a breathtaking view…and I’m not talking the NYC skyline. Unlike other nail spots in Hoboken, Tutti Nails carries Zoya. I love Zoya as it is non-toxic and long lasting. Good luck choosing a color…they are all tempting! The formula goes on smooth and noticeably radiant. Tutti Nails also carries Butter London {another fave line of mine}, Opi Shine and some select Chanel colors. Their never-ending Essie collection is a sight to see, especially with the labels facing outwards for #ezaccess. This particular display was helpful in checking out their medley of colors.

Customer Service.

On a chilly evening, I was pleasantly surprised when my manicurist {shout out to Mimi} offered me a hot tea :). They have two choices at the moment: citrus or ginger. I went with the citrus {upon recommendation}, and it was a lovely perk during my pedicure. After sipping on this for a bit, Mimi asked me how I liked my tea…which was a small, but sweet gesture. She genuinely cared about how my salon experience panned out and I recognized her efforts in doing so.

I don’t always get a pedicure, but I should note that the Tutti Nails’ regular pedi is nothing to boast about; no hot stones, their massage chairs are mediocre. However, Mimi gave me a much needed and lengthy massage – bottom line, ask for Mimi. They do offer a selection of specialty pedicures that may be more appealing for my next visit.

Vibe.

While I love myself a good read during my down time, there are times I will turn to the tube instead. Tutti Nails has a few large flat screens in both their manicure and pedicure stations. They also had old jazz music playing…which was incredibly soothing. The salon emits a spa-like environment, opposed to your sometimes in-and-out speedy tendencies {we are all guilty of it, that is what city-life does to us!}. I would recommend this place if you have someone coming to town to visit and you’d like to relax and be pampered; it is not the spot if you’re looking for a quick fix.

Since the salon is so large, it doesn’t project an overcrowded or rushed feeling. This was unknowingly esteemed during my visit, furthering my point to try Tutti when you have time on your hands…[pun completely intended].

Pricing.

A mani/pedi at Tutti is $35 – if you think about it, almost always you snag a D&D or SBucks on your way which is an additional $2-$6 anyway. Here you get nice service, complimentary tea and…their quick dry top coat is not an additional charge. They also have a card to be stamped each visit; every 10 services, you will receive a $10 service free. Not bad!

A special thanks to my sweet friend Molly for the recommendation, good call!
