When walking the streets of Hoboken, you might find yourself peeking into other people’s homes far too frequently — it’s just so hard to resist. From Harrison to River, the brownstones to the condos, there are so many gorgeous homes within this one square mile — each one telling a unique story with its style, personality, and beauty. With that being said, you can say goodbye to creepily gazing into people’s homes {don’t worry, we’ve all done it}, because we’ve done the work for you. Introducing our Hoboken Homes series where we go inside the homes of Hoboken residents and share all there is to know about the interior and design. Here’s our first feature of our Hoboken Home of the Month — the Toff residence — read on to get a peek inside and learn about the Toff family:

This stunning 4-story Hoboken townhouse is owned by Cristina and Jason who spent nine months renovating this 3,200-square-foot place on Bloomfield Street to fit in with their growing family – them, their 2.5 year old Noam, and two dogs, Riley and Millie.

Cristina and Jason moved to Hoboken three years ago from the East Village. Having also lived in San Francisco, Cristina says that it was a bit of a jump but that “Hoboken feels like home.” When looking for a home Jason asked Cristina to keep her Zillow radius within three blocks of Washington, so their options were limited, to say the least. After 6 long months of searching, they bought this property. And so began the nine month renovation project. The two are no strangers to renovating homes, they’ve taken on multiple projects including their condo in NY, this townhome, and are now taking to the task of renovating a getaway lake house — all they need now is their own show on HGTV.

Fast forward to move-in day {on the week of Christmas no less}, Cristina already had a plan for how she was going to bring her design to life. “Carefully tailoring the home to how we live,” is how she described her design process. Believe it or not, she did it all without an interior designer {inspiring much?!}. With nothing but her exceptional eye and love for design, she infused her rustic, coastal, yet modern vibes throughout her new home. The moment you walk in, you immediately feel welcomed into this cozy home. From the soft tones, the scattered toys around the room, and the wood burning fireplace, you can tell this home was designed around family and love.

The beautiful couches and chairs are from West Elm, whereas the smaller stuff was grabbed from Pottery Barn, like the cute baskets functional tables. Cristina is a big fan of all the incredible artwork from Minted, all their pieces really complete the room. The dinning space is all Restoration Hardware from the eye-catching banquet piece to the dining table and chairs. Cristina said she wanted to make sure the kitchen was pushed to its complete capacity, because her and her son Noam are often in there cooking up a storm.

Our personal favorite part of the kitchen is the shiplap ceilings which center bring a level of elegance to the room. Channeling her inner Joanna Gaines, this shiplap design is seen both in the kitchen and master bedroom.

Cristina’s favorite room is the master bedroom, and who could blame her? Originally this room was a roof deck that they enclosed and turned into a bedroom, with floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in the most spectacular lighting at all times of the day. Their bedroom is a personification of their lives, and yes, Riley and Millie feel right in place with their home too {they match all the decor in the home, because of course they would}.

The canopy bed and nightstands are from Restoration Hardware and bring a feeling of calmness into the room, and the zen feel can even be felt in the children’s rooms, evidenced above. The master bathroom is nothing short of beautiful either — because everyone’s a sucker for a soaking tub.

When looking for a home, everyone should have that one major must-have — and theirs was a space for Jason’s Steinway Grand Piano. For Jason, his piano is his getaway from work, and it’s a big part of their life together. Every home they went into, they would ask, “Where would the piano go?”

Well, that piano found a home in her son’s playroom next to his very own mini piano. Noam’s playroom is fully furnished by pottery barn kids and fully loaded with books, you can tell his little mind is running a mile a minute when he is in there.

We could have stayed inside Cristina and Jason’s home all day but like most things, the fun must end eventually. We hope you enjoyed taking a peek inside as much as we did.
