  • The Best Hoboken + Jersey City Happy Hours of the Week {September 12, 2017 Edition}

    We are officially into September and Hoboken Girl has your week’s plans all set. This week is full of live music, festivals, worthy causes, a beer + wine yoga class, and drinks on a dock, so it’s sure to be a good one. Here’s what’s in store for you with the best Hoboken and Jersey City happy hours of the week: 

    Tuesday – September 12th

    Kick-off to Tijuana Tuesdays and The Dubliner {Hoboken}

    The Dubliner in Hoboken {96 River St.} is taking Taco Tuesday to a whole new level with their kick-off to Tijuana Tuesday. Starting this Tuesday at their second floor sports bar, there will be $1 tacos from 5PM – 8PM. From 8PM on, they will have $2 Tecate, Tecate Light, and margaritas all night.

    Paint + Sip at The Hutton {Jersey City}

    It’s time to unwind with some wine + painting at The Hutton {225 Hutton Street, Jersey City}, from 7PM – 9PM. Tickets include a complimentary glass of wine, all art supplies, and even step by step instructions to create your own acrylic painting to take home. Instructions will be provided by Wine and Design and there is no experience necessary.

    Wednesday – September 13th

    Beer and Wine Yoga at The Kolo Klub {Hoboken}

    We found the perfect opportunity for you: a combination happy hour and exercise class. At the Kolo Klub {1422 Grand St, Hoboken} at 7PM, attendants can create awareness of the mind and body while also sampling different drinks. This class will “give you a different perspective on harmony of the beverage and yoga world.” Guests must be 21+ and tickets include one beer or wine flight and one hour of movement.

    Docktails at Sailors NYC {Jersey City}

    Sailors NYC will be hosting a special event at Liberty Harbor Marina B Dock 11 {11 Marin Blvd, Jersey City} this Wednesday. Guests can enjoy some delicious “docktails” with a great view starting at 6:30PM. Tickets are already available because this is sure to be a great time with plenty of photo ops.

    Thursday – September 14th

    The Benjamins Play Live at Birch {Hoboken}

    If it seems like Birch keeps getting better and better, it’s because it’s true. First an awesome nightlife, then incredible milkshakes, next a Gelateria, and now live music Thursdays. They’re kicking off the series with the Benjamins — doors open at 9PM, show starts at 10PM, with $5 beers, mixed drinks, and fireball shots, and of course, no cover.

    Live Music Thursdays Kick-off + Hurricane Irma Benefit at FM Jersey City {Jersey City}

    FM Jersey City will be kicking off their Live Music Thursdays series featuring Michael Buscio, and they’ll be raising money for the victims of Hurricane Irma. For every drink purchased, $1 will be donated while donations will be accepted at the door — so feel free to drink up. It’s also ladies night, so come by for additional drink specials and a great cause.

    Lutze Thanks our Teachers at The Lutze Biergarten {Jersey City}

    Celebrate the start of a new school year the right way with some of the most important people in society: teachers. Lutze will be treating local educators to two complimentary drink tickets with a valid JC BOE ID as well as food throughout the evening. The event will be 3:00PM-10:00PM at 15 Second Street, Jersey City.

    Growing in Jersey City Back to School Pampering Day {Jersey City}

    Growing in Jersey City is hosting a Back to School Pampering Day at Loosen Up JC {180 Newark Ave Unit 2}. There, you’ll learn how to read food labels and what they really mean from A Green Unicorn, enjoy hand massage techniques from Loosen Up JC, and get an ear acupressure and acupuncture demonstration by Jersey City Chiropractic & Acupuncture.     Friday – September 15th

    Brian Kirk and The Jirks at Willie McBrides {Hoboken}

    An NJ fav will be playing at Willie McBrides {616 Grand St, Hoboken} from 11PM – 2AM this Friday. Brian Kirk and The Jirks will there to rock — and so will half of Hoboken, so make sure to come early and remember the bar in the back is cash only.

    Rooftop Shabbat: Nashville at Liberty Harbor {Jersey City}

    Celebrate a Shabbat dinner, Nashville style. At this dinner, Southern cocktails, grilled meats, and taters will be featured throughout the evening, all with a great view of Lady Liberty. Festivities start at 7PM at Liberty Harbor Observatory {50 Regent Street, Jersey City}. Tickets can be purchased here.

    Saturday – September 16th

    Kombucha Tasting Event at The Church of The Holy Innocents {Hoboken}

    Enjoy this Saturday with a different type of beverage: kombucha. Kombucha is a fermented tea packed full of antioxidants and probiotics. At this event, there will be kombucha tasting and information sharing with The Cultured Club’s fermentation artist Carmela Cirilli, Q+A on health benefits and the brewing, flavoring, and bottling process. There will also be a variety of live, active Heirloom Kombucha SCOBYs, homebrew kits, tees available for purchase. The tasting is taking place at The Church of the Holy Innocents {524 Willow Ave, Hoboken} from 9AM – 3PM.

    7th Annual All About Downtown Street Fair {Jersey City}

    The Annual All About Downtown Street Fair {170 Newark Ave, Jersey City} is back and ready for action. Seven years later, they will still be celebrating from 12PM – 8PM. The fair encompasses over 250 unique vendors from The Grove Path Plaza to Coles Street. There will be a kid’s area filled with rides, face painting, games, and shops as well as areas for the adults with live musical performances, DJs, and spots to kick back and enjoy a drink.

    Sunday – September 17th

    SMB Outdoor Dance Xperience III at Berry Lane Park {Jersey City}

    Missed Electric Zoo? At Berry Lane Park {1000 Garfield Ave, Jersey City} this Sunday, enjoy an amazing FREE house music festival featuring six incredible DJs.     Cara is a current Business and Technology student at Stevens Institute of Technology right in Hoboken and has absolutely no plans of leaving the Mile Square anytime soon after graduation.
