Let’s face it; the holidays seem to creep up on us every single year. Halloween hits and then Thanksgiving is right around the corner. We are totes feeling the pressure of the holidays so we wanted to make it easy on you by coming up with a few local spots that are crushing the Thanksgiving game. Slaving away in the kitchen is a labor of love, and if you’re staying in town and want to dine out — fear not. Let someone else take care of Thanksgiving dinner and sit back and enjoy the day in the good company of your family and friends. Here’s a list of Hoboken and Jersey City restaurants open for Thanksgiving 2018:

This Hoboken staple goes above and beyond every Thanksgiving. Mario, the owner of Mario’s pizza, serves an entire traditional Thanksgiving meal every year at no cost. Yes, that’s right — an entire meal for absolutely free. Spead the word to those who could use a free meal this holiday — Mario and his crew will surely make anyone that stops in feel like family.

Antique Bar & Bakery {122 Willow Avenue, Hoboken}

Antique always hits the nail right on the head when it comes to dinner and cocktails and it is no surprise that they are one of the few spots open for Thanksgiving dinner. This year, they will be hosting two seatings — one at 12:00PM and the other at 3:00PM — so you can take your pick. Make sure to call ahead and reserve your spot as space is limited. For $75 per person, you and your crew can indulge in a homestyle grandma’s dinner buffet complete with mashed potatoes and gravy, string bean almondine, roasted sweet potatoes, butternut squash, roasted orange carrots, sage stuffing and {wait for it} a coal-fired turkey. They are stoked about this unique recipe and will be serving up quite an extravaganza. Drinks, tax, and tip are not included in the pricing.

Hobbs Inc

Amanda’s {908 Washington Street, Hoboken}

As usual Amanda’s is serving up quite an exquisite menu featuring some Thanksgiving classics and some seasonal twists. At $55 per person {not including tax and gratuity}, you and your guests will enjoy a three-course pre-fixe filled with so many choices. The honey almond ricotta crostini {with dried cherries and sage} would be our pick for an appetizer. For dinner, choose from the classic roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, haricot vert, apple stuffing, cranberry jam, and gravy or something different. With options ranging from chestnut risotto to pan seared sea bass to oven roasted pork chops, each plate is just as delicious as the next. Don’t forget about dessert — an apple strudel, pumpkin cheesecake tart, flourless chocolate cake, and a vanilla pannacotta make it very hard to pick just one. See the complete menu here

Halifax {225 River Street, Hoboken}

This classy waterfront spot never disappoints and this year Halifax is doing Thanksgiving the right way. With sweet and savory options for all three courses, this upscale menu is outrageous. Dive into Thanksgiving from 2:00PM to 8:00PM and indulge in some Halifax faves. Choose from a local apple and squash salad, cauliflower soup, warm pear tart, or baby beets and smoked salmon salad to start. For dinner, Chef Seadon Shouse is serving up a variety of dishes sure to please all taste buds. From the Heritage Turkey Roulade to the Squash Pappardelle to the Braised Lamb Shank to the Maine Blue Cod, there is something for everyone in the fam. The Brass Rail {135 Washington Street, Hoboken}

This modern classic in Hoboken is serving up a mouthwatering menu for Thanksgiving. Pre-fixe seems to be the way to go in Hoboken and Jersey City this year, and The Brass Rail is doing it up. For starters, choose from fall inspired salads, risottos, and soups — our fave is the fall risotto. As for dinner, choose from a classic roasted turkey dinner {with sweet sausage, apple + dried cranberry stuffing, Yukon gold mashed potatoes, and baby carrots topped with a black pepper gravy}, seared salmon, cider braised beef shank, grilled shrimp, butternut squash ravioli, or a grilled filet mignon. With so many choices for dessert, which one are you going to pick?  We are between the Nutella créme brûlée and the monster rum raisin bread Pudding {because vanilla ice cream + caramel drizzle — duh} but we suggest ordering one of each, because it is the day of giving, after all. See the full menu here

Del Frisco’s Grille {221 River Street, Hoboken}

Not to forget dessert, there’s a variety of that, too — including pumpkin cheesecake, caramel pot de crème, and more. See the entire menu here and be sure to make your reservation ASAP.

The cost per person is $45 and does not include tax or gratuity. Call ahead for reservations to enjoy this delectable menu.

South House will be putting a Texas twist on Thanksgiving with some southern classics and turkey day staples. For $35 you and your guests can enjoy some southern hospitality with a finger-lickin’ three-course menu. Wait for it — that price includes beer and wine. To start, choose from The South House salad or a butternut squash soup. For the main course, The turkey plate is TDF {mashed potatoes, mac + cheese, garlic balsamic roasted greens + mushrooms, sweet potato casserole + pecan streusel} is total Thanksgiving overload in the best way possible. Also available is a butternut squash and spinach lasagna. Sweeten the deal with bourbon pumpkin pie, pecan pie, or chocolate bread pudding for dessert.

Molo’s Restaurant {1 Pershing Road, Weehawken}

There’s literally no reason to cook when a restaurant that’s delicious on a regular day creates a special four-course menu for Thanksgiving. Molo’s Thanksgiving dinner menu includes turkey and pomegranate soup, an organic romaine salad, oven roasted turkey with all the fixins’, and your choice of dessert. Not to mention — what’s better than dining on the waterfront on a holiday? See the full menu here.
