Our Annual Hoboken Wellness Crawl Event is back in-person — happening September 19, 2021, from 11:00AM – 4:00PM in Hoboken AND tickets are available now! Think of it like a ‘bar crawl’ but for wellness businesses in our area. This year we have over 100 vendors participating, all who are giving all Crawlers freebies when they stop by on the 19th during the Crawl and are hosting giveaways. For every ticket sold, we are donating $1 to the Hoboken Community Center Food Pantry. The crawl will feature brick-and-mortar businesses + online/mobile businesses. The goal of the Hoboken Wellness Crawl is to connect local residents with wellness businesses in Hudson County to celebrate all of the incredible food, fitness, health, and beauty options available in our community. You’ll get a map, bracelet, bag, and then walk or bike all around #Hoboken at your leisure to visit different wellness businesses locally that all are giving away freebies, class passes, samples, and more.

Everyone is encouraged to bring books to read aloud to children, in addition to a reading of “Sewing the Rainbow,” a book about how the LGBT flag was created and a discussion about historical LGBT pioneers. Ways to Give Back Locally

True Mentors 

True Mentors is Hoboken’s only one-to-one mentor program. The program matches children ages 7-17 with trained mentors. Volunteers are needed to serve as mentors and can sign up to be trained. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and must make at least a 1-year commitment to their mentee for a minimum of 8 hours per month. Learn more here


Write on Sports 

Started in 2005 by a former sportswriter, Write on Sports is a non-profit organization whose mission is to fill in writing curriculum gaps by giving students the opportunity to learn through sports. Thousands of children, each year, fall behind in writing skills due to a lack of understanding, lack of resources, or simply a lack of interest in the writing topics in a traditional curriculum. Write on Sports allows students to improve literacy skills through a topic that interests many middle schoolers—sports. The organization has expanded over the past 16 years and now has a chapter in Jersey City. The Jersey City Chapter needs a Volunteer Assistant, Partnership Coordinator, and Social Media Intern. Wise Animal Rescue

Wise Animal Rescue is a 501c3 organization dedicated to the well-being of all dog breeds. The rescue facility works with veterinary services to rescue and provide services/resources to dogs of all ages and breeds who have previously been in unsafe environments. Volunteer opportunities are available with Wise Animal Rescue in various capacities. Individuals are needed to help with adoption events, administrative tasks, fundraising, social media, and transportation. Jersey City Non-Profit ‘The Whole Spectrum’ Hosting Autism Awareness Event on 9/9

This year’s 6th Annual Autism Acceptance Event is just that and will take place on Thursday, September 9th at the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza in Jersey City at 6PM. The event supports The Whole Spectrum, a nonprofit founded by Sherry Singh in 2016 with the purpose of raising awareness, acceptance, and advocacy for all individuals with autism spectrum disorders. 

Don’t forget to attend this year’s 6th Annual Autism Acceptance Event which is scheduled for September 9th on the Newark Avenue Pedestrian in Jersey City. Tickets start at $100 with all proceeds going to The Whole Spectrum Foundation and sponsorship opportunities are available from $1,000 to $5,000 packages.
