We always love when Hoboken has a variety of events for us to enjoy, and this is one of those weekends. From charity, to exercise, to music- there is no shortage of fun things to do this weekend around town. Have fun Hoboken!

108 Sun Salutations for Nepal: Sunday, June 14th from 8-10:00AM

Step outside for an amazing cause this Sunday morning and join Devotion Yoga for a charity event benefitting those affected by the earthquake in Nepal. Join Brendan Gibbons, Tam Terry, Kim Weiss-Lewit, Douglass Stewart and other wonderful teachers as they lead you through a beautiful practice of 108 Sun Salutations outside on the lawn at the Church of the Holy Innocents. The event runs from 8-10:00AM and people are welcome to join for either part or the entire two hours. 100% of donations go directly to support the children directly impacted by the recent Earthquake and Flooding. Donations can be made in cash on the day of or, if you can’t make it, you can donate here. Please bring your own mat. 🙂

If you are looking to get out of Hoboken for the weekend, NY Wing Factory in Fort Lee is teaming up with New Jersey Craft Beer to host a tasting of new and popular beers on the market.  There will be over 20 beers on tap followed by kegs being tapped every hour! All NJCB members will receive 10% off their bill for the entire night. Are you a Sinatra fan?   The word around town is that Hoboken is the place to be this weekend for all Sinatra lovers! A series of events will be happening this weekend leading up to his 100th birthday on December 12th. On Saturday head down to Leo’s Grandevous to enjoy the sounds of the Sinatra Cabaret and contestants of “Sinatra Idol” perform. The performance starts at 10:30 p.m., tickets are $25.00 and must be purchased in advance at Leo’s Grandevous.

4th Annual Camel & Ostrich Derby- Friday, June 12th at 5:00PM

Interested in seeing camels and ostriches race? Meadowlands and Racing Entertainment will be hosting their 4th Annual Camel & Ostrich Derby this weekend. The track will also be hosting world renowned belly dancer, Amira Mor. The food court, Victory Sports Bar & Club, and Pink will all be open at 5pm. Pink is offering a $34.95 buffet special for guests {reservations are strongly recommended}. The first live-harness race will begin at 7:15 followed by the Ostriches at 8:10 and Camels post 10 p.m.

Yield to Fashion with VIA Rove: Friday, June 11th at 3:00PM- Saturday, June 12th at 9:00PM

The W Hoboken is hosting VIA Rove’s “Fashion Revival”, New Jersey’s premiere curbside boutique. The boutique will have trending styles and must have fashion pieces. Fashion Revival is a two day event and will start at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon outside of Hoboken’s W Hotel and end Saturday at 9 p.m.  Post a pic using #WHOBOKEN and #VIAROVE for a chance to win a 1 night stay at W Hoboken + $100 Via Rove shopping credit.

Hoboken Public Library Book Festival: Saturday, June 13th from 11:00AM-5:00PM

Celebrate Reading and Literacy this Saturday at Church Square Park, right across the street from the library. There will be activities for all ages. Starting at 11:00AM and running at various times throughout the day, children can enjoy “The Wizard of OZ” puppet show, face painting, a craft tent, and a visit with a superhero. At 2:30PM teens can take drawing lesson. Throughout the whole day, everyone can enjoy the technology tent featuring a display of the library’s 3D printers and stop by a new and used book sale. Local food vendors will sell a variety of tasty treats and  The Hoboken Division of Cultural Affairs will be sponsoring Sinatra style singers. Click here for more information.

New and upcoming business Cause & Event, an event planning company specializing in non-profits, has joined with the Church of the Holy Innocents to host an event to support the beautification at the church.  The event is family friendly with a kid focus from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. (bounce house, kids crafts, etc) and a more adult focus from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. (jazz trio). There will be a cash bar and food is included in the ticket price. The church hopes to create a space for the entire Hoboken community to use.

Jersey City Record Riot: Sunday, June 14th from 9:00AM-6:00PM

Come on down to the free second Jersey City Record Riot this year, featuring more vendors, more vinyl, and more fun. The event will have 30+ tables of vinyl, CDs, memorabilia, and other music-related goodness. Located just outside the Grove St. PATH station.  DJs will be on site all day, and plenty of great restaurants and bars are just steps away for you to enjoy. Check here for more info.

Free Kayaking and Stand-up Paddle Boarding: Sunday, June 14th from 1:30-5:30PM

Looking to get outside this weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather? The Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse is providing free, yes free, kayaking and SUP Sunday afternoon from 1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Never went kayaking or experienced SUP before? Do not worry there will be instructors and volunteers to help all ages along the way to enjoy a perfect day out on the cove.
