Hoboken Travels: A {Second} Cup of bwè in Jersey City

There are few things we love more than a good cup of coffee. Since they came to Hoboken, we’ve happily found, parked ourselves, {and fell for} a little place called bwè kafeThe atmosphere, the people, and of course, the coffee. MY. GOODNESS. THE COFFEE. But this isn’t a post to gush about their goods {though we certainly could}–it’s more to share the good news – bwe’s second location in Jersey City is open! Have you been?

This new location is super easy to find {with ample meter parking I might add!} and is just a few minutes from Hoboken {140 River Drive South Jersey City, NJ 07310}. If you’re headed there from Hoboken, take Marin Blvd and turn left on Eighteenth street {pass Target}, then take a left onto 14th Street followed by a right onto River Drive South & you’re there {it will be on your left}.

Disclaimer: Those pretty cups were sadly, not all mine. I met two of my girlfriends for a quick coffee that turned into an hour long date–I love when that happens, don’t you?

This new location is just as unique & gorgeous as its Hoboken sister, only bigger! I was so blown away by it that I asked who their interior designer was. Turns out one of the owners, Dale, does all the decorating in their spaces–she gets an A++ in my book! As far as the staff goes, you’ll see some familiar faces from the Hoboken location–all who are sweet as pie and pros at making a good cup of joe. And lastly, the music. I’ll just say you think your music library is good until  you listen to the music selection bwè offers. It’s THAT good—no headphones necessary here people.

There’s usually a fair amount of pastries involved when I visit bwe, so… there’s that. They always have an array of delcious {healthyish} choices and this location did not disappoint! Shout out to OM Sweet Hometry Dawn’s FANTASTIC gluten free/vegan pumpkin muffins! You will probably want another.

Some reasons why we love bwè kafe–every Friday they host a ‘Hoboken Spoken’ or in other words, an open mic night. Their music & free wifi {a favorite place to get some work done}. They carry gluten free/vegan pastries. Their coffee is OUTSTANDING. They offer ‘loyalty cards’ which plainly mean every 10 stamps you collect gets you a free drink! And most importantly, the owners & staff are awesome human beings. A portion of every purchase made at bwè goes to Coffee for Water–which provides water filtration services in Haiti, supplying the people there with access to safe drinking water. They also sell Haitian art to promote local artists and partner with La Colombe, to help Haitian youth receive education.

I’ll end my rant here but will say, this Jersey City location is just as awesome as the Hoboken one. Do yourself a favor and check it out! Oh and bwè, keep changing the world one coffee cup at a time! We love you.
