Weekend Events – lots to do in the Boken this weekend!
1. Jersey Strong Trivia at the Shannon: Saturday, December 15 at 4pm
Please support the rebuilding and recovery of the area and its community on Saturday, December 15 at The Shannon (106 First Street, between Washington & Bloomfield) at 4pm for ‘Boken not Broken: In Support of Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort for “Jersey Strong Trivia”. FIVE unique rounds on the Garden State; everything from Bon Jovi and Boardwalk Empire to Seton Hall and Belmar.
2. Hoboken Gallery Walk: Sunday, December 16th, 2pm-6pm
The art gallery walk occurs on the third Sunday of each month from 2 to 6 pm. Eleven galleries and art spaces around Hoboken participate in the festivities. With special events and receptions in a coordinated tour de force, 3rd Sundays will highlight the work of local, regional and international artists. You will find a wealth of fantastic art in spaces whose atmospheres range from sophisticated to funky. The galleries are open to the public!
3. HOPEboken at Willie McBrides: Saturday, December 15th at 4pm-10pm
I discussed this in an earlier post detailing fundraising and holiday events around town. This one is at Willie McBrides – bring a new, unwrapped toy and entry is free (with no toy, it’s just $10)! Lots of bands and holiday cheer, and all proceeds go to the Hoboken Relief Fund (http://rebuildhoboken.org).

4. It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play: 720 Monroe Street, Second Floor
It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is a holiday classic the entire family will enjoy!
December 6 through December 23 – Thursday, Friday, and Saturday @8pm, Saturday and Sunday @3pm
5. Storyboard Bath & Body DIY Spa Social at Luxe Face & Body:
Sunday, December 16th at 6pm-7:30pm
Each month Storyboard hosts a DIY Spa Social to show people how to make their own soaps, bath salts, candles, and more. So cool!! This Sunday, there is a Bath Salts Gift Jar Social at Luxe Face & Body on 158 First Street. For this class, it will be a festive and fun evening making custom bath salts in embellished jam jars. Additionally, you will be able to create your organic bath salts to take home and enjoy, and make another batch as a special relaxing treat for a loved one. The class will cover a variety of ingredients, including essential oils and healing botanicals which are perfect for nourishing dry skin in winter weather. $20 includes all bath salt ingredients, jars and embellishment materials as well as light refreshments. Sign up with a friend and it’s $30!
