• HUB Hoboken Being Investigated After Lewd Videos Surface on Social Media

News has come in that downtown Hoboken bar HUB, located at 16 Hudson Place, is being investigated for patrons’ actions over the weekend. The situation occurred after some lewd sexual acts were filmed on social media on September 8th during an appearance with Kirill, known as the “Slut Whisperer” on Instagram.

According to NBC 4 NewsHUB {which took the place of Hoboken favorite TEAK} was closed as of noon Wednesday, and police officers were standing outside barring the entrance.

    Update as of 6:15PM 9/13/18:

According to NJ.com, Hoboken’s Alcoholic Beverage Control board has created an agreement that HUB will remain closed until the outcome of the ABC hearing, now happening October 25th. The hearing was originally scheduled for September 20th.

Some of the many graphic and NSFW videos that were circulating from a very crowded HUB Saturday night showed lewd acts being performed on a woman by a male as many club attendees and staff watched and filmed. {Editor’s note: It was utterly disturbing}.

This isn’t the first time HUB has been in hot water — just in February a Hoboken police officer was injured in a large brawl outside of the club. Police Chief Ken Ferrante shared with Pix 11 News that three people were arrested and an officer suffered a minor back injury during the fight that took place outside of the club. He also shared with Hmag regarding the current situation that “this is an ongoing investigation and that the Hoboken Police are currently working in conjunction with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.”

The ABC Licensing Bureau has specific laws that regulate the sale of alcoholic beverages and the conduct of licensees through the issuance of licenses. If a licensee violates any laws or regulations, as HUB may have done in this case, according to the NJ government website, the Director may “suspend or revoke the license or impose a fine and/or any other appropriate conditions on the holder of such licenses.” The hearing next week will determine their fate.

As recently as July, HUB was in the news after another brawl occurred, this time with bottles being used as weapons. According to NJ.com, three club-goers were assaulted with bottles, with victims suffering lip cuts and head lacerations.

As for the most recent events that are under scrutiny, police are currently investigating the situation and no local officials have made comments yet about its outcome. A source familiar with the “Slut Whisperer” shared with HobokenGirl.com that the DJ and personality {who has over 1 million followers on Instagram} has hosted several parties at HUB in the past and is known to throw wild parties, evidenced by his Instagram.

We stopped by HUB around 3:00PM to check out the scene, and it was surprisingly quiet after many news trucks surrounding it earlier. Police officers were no longer standing outside, but there was a News 12 truck parked out front {pictured above}. We imagine more news stations will be making their way to the spot soon, and will keep you updated on any more information we hear regarding updates.
