Hoboken resident Jennifer Geoghan flew to Seattle to interview with MTV because her ex, Robbie Padovano, listed her as an ex-girlfriend on his Real World Seattle: Bad Blood application. When she arrived, she thought she was interviewing to talk about him to help him get on the show, but little did she know, they were interviewing her as well to see if she’d be a good fit as his “bad blood.” As luck would have it: they were a fit, and shortly after, the producers broke the news that they were the ‘twist’ for this season of Real World and would be moving into the Real World house. How’s that for a casual little trip West?

Of course we had to catch up with Jennifer, who is a hairstylist at Lorraine’s House of Styles in Hoboken, a cast member on the 32nd {yes, THIRTY SECOND} season of the Real World— and now {dare we say most importantly?!} our featured Hoboken Girl of the Week. Read on to find out all about this reality star and her journey to reality TV from our little mile square:

What was your initial reaction when you found out you were cast on Real World Seattle: Bad Blood? And how did you get on the show?

I originally got the call for an interview because my Ex, Robbie, listed me as an ex girlfriend on his Real World application. So I thought I was interviewing to talk about him to help him get on the show. Little did I know…they were interviewing me as well to see if I’d be a good fit to be his “Bad Blood.” They asked me if I’d be interested in doing another MTV show, and once I arrived to Portland, Oregon for this other show—they broke the news to us that we were ‘the twist’ for this season of Real World,  and we would be moving in the Real World house. My jaw dropped when I was told the news — I just really wanted to go into this experience focusing on myself — not a relationship I had 3 years ago and didn’t want to deal with ever again.

What’s something that surprised you about filming a reality show?

The main thing that surprised me was the fact you literally have ZERO privacy. Even when I shower or go to the bathroom…I walk out and BOOM….camera is there. I know I signed up to be filmed 24/7 but after a while, 5 minutes of privacy is all you want but it doesn’t happen!

Okay on to some Hoboken Qs. What is your favorite restaurant in Hoboken?

Dor L Dor, that place ALWAYS comes in clutch when I need an outfit for something! And everything is affordable!

What do you love most about Hoboken?

The people that live in Hoboken for sure, everyone is SO nice and friendly. I love making new friends around town.

What is your favorite thing to do in Hoboken?

Hoboken always has something going on, whether it’s a festival, something going on at one of the pier’s, or an event at a bar. There is just so much to do and so much to choose from — my absolute favorite thing has to be being down by the waterfront on a beautiful day. The view of NYC is breathtaking and it’ll never get old to me. Other than that, got to love bar hopping!

Back to Real World because the season is just sooo dramatic. What is your favorite memory filming?

Favorite memory has to be the friendships I made. The best part is you get casted with people who you’d probably NEVER be friends with in real life. So they producers throw you into this situation where you are forced to live with strangers (I had to live with 13 of them!!!!) and surprisingly I walked out of there with lifelong friendships with people I never thought I would be close friends with. I learned so much from each and every one of my roommates.

Real talk. What is the biggest lesson you learned about yourself during the show?

Biggest lesson: I can’t get along with everyone. I always want to be friends with everyone and never had people that don’t like me. But when you’re stuck with people you don’t get along with 24/7, you realize you actually aren’t a match to be friends with everyone. It bothered me, but it’s life!

Is there anything you’d change that happened on the show?

I went into this experience telling myself no regrets, everything happens for a reason. I had ups and downs during the show, and people will see me at my worst. But I’m human, and I don’t regret a thing.

What did you miss about Hoboken while you were in Seattle?

I missed my friends the most. Seattle was like Hoboken in a way — very city-like. But the atmosphere was totally different, and I just missed Hoboken — knowing people and the laid back/fun feel this town has. Seattle has its own style, so I absolutely enjoyed spending time there and living there for two months.
