Hoboken Coffee Shops Jeremy Allen White Has Visited (and Where He Should Go Next)

Hoboken is primarily known for its pizzerias (in 2022, it had the most per capita out of any New Jersey city), but coffee shops have become just as abundant in recent years. An outsider might wonder how nearly 30 cafes can squeeze into a one-square-mile town or question whether residents really consume this much caffeine, but we’d redirect these questions toward a frequent celebrity visitor. Since shopping at Little City Books in October, Jeremy Allen White (The Bear, Shameless) has been spotted in Hoboken just about every week. These sightings, however, are almost exclusively at various Hoboken coffee shops, including bwè kafe, Hidden Grounds, and Mojo. We can’t help but wonder if this explains Hoboken’s prolific coffee scene: so that Jeremy Allen White could go on a coffee crawl. Either way, here are all the Hoboken coffee shops he’s visited so far, and here’s where we think he should go next.

Where He’s Been So Far

Mojo Coffee Co. | 801 Bloomfield Street

Dunkin’ Donuts | 700 Washington Street

We’re loyal to our locally-owned spots, but a true coffee crawl includes chains too, we suppose. An HG reader spotted Jeremy Allen White at the Washington Street Dunkin on November 25th.

A Few Recommendations

We’re of the mind that every Hoboken coffee shop is worth trying, but here are just some of the top-priority destinations, in no particular order.

  • Pour Amor (delicious coffee, free bagel bites)
  • Hey Coffee People (great WFH spot)
  • The Hive (cinnamon rolls, duh)
  • The Roost Outpost (named New Jersey’s most “beautiful independent store” by AD)
  • Jefferson’s Coffee (for a late-night pick-me-up)
  • The Little Local (to feel like a true local)
  • Empire Coffee + Tea (for something to take home)
  • Black Rail Coffee (some of our fave avocado toast)
  • Cafe Vista (for a beautiful ambiance)
  • Joboken (if he ever finds himself on the PATH)

Of course, that only scratches the surface. If you’re reading this, Jeremy, we’ve got a complete guide to Hoboken coffee shops here
