Jersey City might not be *known* for its fashion scene (try sandwiches, quality of life, or randomly, Halloween celebrations), but shopping the streets in any given neighborhood, it’s not hard to find stylish boutiques + savvy shops. That’s why Mana Fashion Services, in collaboration with Mana Contemporary and the City Council of Jersey City, are gearing up for Jersey City’s first-ever “Day of Fashion,” a fashion experience that aims to celebrate and elevate JC creatives. Jersey City Day of Fashion is Wednesday, September 6th (during New York Fashion Week), with various Jersey City venues hosting runway shows, exhibits, and discussions. All About the Event
Per a press release, Jersey City Day of Fashion is “an unprecedented fashion experience presented by Mana Fashion Services in collaboration with Mana Contemporary and the City Council of Jersey City, [that] will take place on Wednesday September 6th, 2023 throughout various iconic venues across Jersey City.”

Festivities are set to kick off at 9AM, with a press conference at City Hall featuring remarks from city
officials and two participating local designers.
Later, at 11AM, “Council President Joyce Watterman will host an exclusive brunch and panel discussion at the Hyatt House Hotel with local designers and media professionals.”
In addition to these discussions, there will also be “a Fashion Mingle happy hour at the Hilton Canopy Hotel, back-to-back fashion shows at Mana Contemporary, a sneaker panel at & Co Space, immersive fashion installations, and a VIP closing party at an undisclosed location with musical performances and celebrity guests,” according to the press release.
Martu Freeman-Parker, Director of Mana Fashion Services, said about the event: “We have an exciting day of events planned for the first ever Jersey City Day of Fashion to showcase and elevate the incredible fashion scene here.” She continued, “With runway shows, exhibits, discussions, and more, our goal is to highlight the vibrant talent in Jersey City and position it as a leading fashion destination.”
