Back to school season isn’t just for the little ones. And if you’ve been itching to learn a new language for personal or professional reasons {because going to Spain and just saying “Hola” probably isn’t enough}, or if you just need to brush up on those skills from high school, you should probably check out Learn Language Hoboken. This language learning school just opened a bunch of new classes for fall {and is running an awesome promo — more below}. Their Hoboken classes specialize in Italian, French, Mandarin, Spanish, Arabic, and Hindi and the company offers group and private lessons to fit your skill level. And because they’re located smack in the middle of the Mile Square at the Citadel Building, as they put it, “learning a new language is closer than you think.” No extensive travel needed.

Learn Language Hoboken was started by founder Dana Marchionne, who fell in love with the Italian language and culture after taking an Italian 101 course at Rutgers University. She studied abroad in Italy and moved there after graduating, but her passion for learning language didn’t stop with her own craft. When she returned to the U.S., she began imparting this knowledge to high school students and soon after, opened her own language school right here in the Mile Square.

While the Citadel Building {located at 450 Seventh St.} may seem like there’s hardly any room for businesses on its ground level, you’d be surprised at the space LLH has to offer. Included in their fall schedule are adult group classes that meet weekly — including weeknight, weekend, and early morning sessions. But if you’re looking for more personalized study, LLH also offers flexible private lessons. They most recently added English as a Second Language {ESL} courses to their program of study, so if you or someone who know is looking to perfect their English, Learn Language Hoboken is the place to go — {ground floor of the Citadel}.

Dana and her team at LLH have made it their mission to make language learning accessible to all those who want to develop their linguistic knowledge. As Dana says, if you’re looking to learn a language, “you no longer need to go to that country anymore to learn the language. We have teachers that are right here, willing to help.” They’re working with local schools to develop after school enrichment programs and also offer Mommy-and-Me classes. Additionally, they work with businesses to address a company’s needs for team language training. Learn Language Hoboken was born as a way to teach its students not only about other languages and cultures, but also to set the example that it is never too late to learn a new language {and they mean that — they have clients that range from six months to 70 years old}.

Traditional classes not your style? LLH has a few workshops, trips, and events to attend — including things like a little field trip to EATaly in NYC — sign us up!
