Back in December 2022, Hoboken BNR Lexi Pellegrini opened up Lido, a luxury boutique, at 632 Washington Street in Hoboken. The shop was known for housing trendy clothing items, accessories, and chic gifts like Chanel and Gucci candles. In April 2024, signs pointed to the boutique closing, with a ‘FOR RENT’ sign on the window, but Lexi confirmed with The Hoboken Girl that the spot was still open for business. Now, in May 2024, Lido has officially closed on Washington Street, and a new pilates studio called Bloom will be moving in this June. Read on for more about Lido’s closure, what we’ll miss about the boutique, and what we know about Bloom Pilates Studio’s arrival in Hoboken, NJ.

Lido’s Closure + About the Boutique

Back in mid-April, the HG team noticed a “FOR RENT” sign in the window of Lido. Despite this, owner Lexi Pellegrini confirmed with us that the store was still open for business. Now in late May, the “FOR RENT” sign has been taken down and signage has been put up for a new Pilates studio, Bloom.

Owner Lexi Pelligrini shared the following with The Hoboken Girl surrounding the closure:

“I want to thank all of my amazing customers for the best experience possible it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of their lives. I am so excited to pass down the beautiful space to the new owners and see what they bring to the community!”

A true Hobokenite, owner Lexi has lived in Hoboken almost all her life, until heading south to the nation’s capital to study public relations + communications at George Washington University. After graduating and returning to her hometown, Lexi used her degree to open Lido on Washington Street in Hoboken in December 2022. Lido celebrated its official opening in the Mile Square on Saturday, December 17th, 2022.

Lido aimed to elevate the shopping experience from a mere transaction to something more meaningful and intimate. A self-described “curated edit for the modern woman,” Lido provided a chic selection of women’s tops, pants, and dresses, among other things. Though many of these pieces can be categorized as “basics,” Lexi described them to HG in 2022 as “edgy” and “sophisticated” staples that can be worn for any occasion — bossing at work, full glamming on a night out, and anything in between.

The shop also had a range of knitwear, from sweaters and matching sets to cardigans. Fashionable as they are functional, these pieces added a layer of coziness to the Hoboken boutique’s collection, without sacrificing the luxurious vibes. And, in the spirit of this comfy luxury, Lido had Chanel and Gucci bag candles, which paired well with the shop’s knit pieces.

All of the boutique’s items were sourced from independent designers rather than big-name brands, a choice made strategically by Lexi to support small businesses and curate a unique clothing selection. The shop had a moderate price point, with most items falling between $35-$235. Sizes ranged from extra-small to large. Lido’s doors were open to anyone looking to feel confident in their clothing.

What’s Next for the Space: Bloom Pilates Studio

On May 29th, a member of the HG team walked by the former Lido space and noticed signage for Bloom Pilates Studio — which will be soft-opening this June at 632 Washington Street.

The sign reads “Come celebrate the opening of our Reformer Pilates Studio and be the first to experience our unique ambiance! Enjoy our social discounts and offers during soft opening.”

Per the website, the Pilates studio has a variety of different classes — Bounce + Burn, Stretch + Sculpt, Core + More, Strong + Lean, and Body + Mind. You can find more information about each class here.
