Now that everybody is back in town after the 4th, it’s time to get ready for the rest of July. And just because Independence Day is behind us doesn’t mean the best of summer is behind us. Dare we say that the best is yet to come? It helps that there is a ton of incredible live music, as always, happening in Hoboken and Jersey City this month. So follow our guide and your week and weekend nights will be filled with good music, drinks, food — and of course, some serious great times. Below is your complete guide to live music in Hoboken and Jersey City this July 2017:

Friday, July 7th at Maxwell’s Tavern {Hoboken}

Maxwell’s Tavern is hosting the album release party for up and coming indie-cenric musician Rob Jennings, featuring special performances by Adam Melchor & Yankee Longstraw, Tickets: $10 here.

Friday, July 14th at Fox + Crow {JC}

Abbie Gardner will be playing her fiery dobro music live in the parlour at Fox + Crow in Jersey City.

Saturday, July 15th at Maxwell’s {Hoboken}

The Chris Paterno Band, an 8-piece alternative soul band, will be performing at Maxwell’s on Saturday night. Definitely stop by to check them out as Chris continues his journey to decide between med school and music.

Monday, July 17th at Palisade Lumber Supply {JC}

Live at the Lumberyard is part of JC Fridays with live bands, a DJ, food truck, and other street vendors. June’s concert date is the 17th from 7-10PM, featuring performances from CKAY, America’s Sweeatheart, and Plastiq Passion.

Friday, July 21st at Maxwell’s Tavern {Hoboken}

Maxwell’s Tavern will have live music featuring Morgan Treni and the Landscapes at 9 PM, James Calleo and band at 10 PM, and Unruly Mane at 11 PM. The doors will open at 8:30 PM and you can get your tickets here.

Sunday, July 23rd at Porter Collins {Hoboken}

JC Stylles Organ Trio will play a selection of jazz music at Porter Collins, so if you are looking for a more relaxed evening this will be the perfect fit.

Wednesday, July 26th at Prudential Center {Newark}

Queen featuring Adam Lambert will play the Newark concert venue towards the end of the month. If you love Queen’s iconic music and are willing to splurge a little for the live concert experience in an arena, this show is something you won’t want to miss. Prudential is easily accessible via the Path, as well, making it even easier to catch this show. Tickets minimum $52 here.

Thursday, July 27th at Monty Hall {JC}

Night Birds will bring New Jersey music roots to Monty Hall on July 27th, playing music from their vast discography. Tickets $10 here.

Every Wednesday at the Grove Path Plaza {JC}

Groove on Grove is a free concert series happening from May – September featuring all kinds of live musicians, performances, and street vendors.

Every Other Friday at Midnight Market {JC}

Live music, DJ dance parties, and 20 food vendors all for $5. That sounds like a pretty good deal to us! This all-in-one stop is happening every other Friday in Jersey City and it kicks off on July 14th.

Green Rock {70 Hudson St.} Live jams on Wednesday nights.

House of ‘Que {340 Sinatra Ave.} A variety of live music throughout the month and dueling pianos every Saturday at 9PM.

The Madison {1316 Washington St.} Swing by for live jazz + Sunday brunch from 10:30AM – 2:30PM.

Maxwell’s Tavern {1039 Washington St.} Don’t miss the live music lineup at this iconic venue; Tuesday is open mic night.

McSwiggins {110 First St.} Every Monday + Wednesday bands go on at 9PM.

Northern Soul {700 First St.} Self-proclaimed adorers of music. Check site always and often for acts.

Willie McBride’s {616 Willow Ave.} The best bands in the area play here on Friday + Saturday nights on their mini stage {pluuuus a free limo ride there + back}.

The Turtle Club {936 Park Ave.} The Turtle Club Sessions will start on July 9th at 7:30 PM and continue on the second Sunday of every month.

Midnight Market { 147 Harborside Financial Center Platform} Every second Friday from July 14th – August 11th, Midnight Marker brings you over 20 food vendors with everything costing less than $5, as well as live music and DJ dance parties. This event is 21+ and runs from 6:30 – midnight. Tickets are $5.

The Archer {176 Newark St.} Wednesday nights = bluegrass night with the Go Bailors at 7:30pm each week.

Brightside Tavern {141 Bright St.} Live jazz on Monday night and an open mic on Thursday – Sunday.

Fox + Crow {594 Palisade Ave.} Live music on Thursday, Friday + Saturday.

Madam Claude {390 Fourth St.} Live Gypsy Jazz every Tuesday + Thursday, featuring Manouche Bag.

Moore’s Lounge – aka Bill + Ruth’s {189 Monticello Ave} Blues + Jazz Friday nights and a meet the artist series on Sunday nights.
