Just because Labor Day — and the outdoor concerts that line the Hudson — are mostly behind us, doesn’t mean we need to leave live music behind altogether. From big name acts like Bruno Mars’ much-anticipated 24K Magic tour in Newark, to the locally beloved Arts + Music Festival heading back to Washington Street, there is plenty to do {and hear} in Hudson County this month. Friday, September 8th at Monty Hall {JC}

For $10, enjoy the sounds of New Jersey family band The Rock ‘n’ Roll Hi-Fives and rock band Pat Byrne’s They Live! at Monty Hall. Doors open at 8PM, tickets here.

Saturday, September 9th at Maxwell’s Tavern {Hoboken}

Philadelphia-based rock and roll sextet Cold Roses, bluesy rock band The Skullers and NJ indie-pop group Above The Moon perform at Maxwells on September 9th. Doors open at 7:30PM and tickets are $10 here.

Saturday, September 9th at White Eagle Hall {JC}

American Pop Punk band State Champs teams up with rock band Home Safe, acoustic guitar soloist Speak Low if You Speak Love, Bright Green, and Bearings to bring the audience an array of amazing music. Saturday, September 9th at Cathedral Hall {JC}

For $25 {$30 at at the door}, enjoy a day-long event including performances ranging from well-known national artists to the best acts of the region at the Hudson West Folk Festival. The festival willl feature 13 musical artists, musical workshops, cultural vendors, food, and drinks. Jersey City will become a major player in the folk world when it hosts the first annual Hudson West Folk Festival on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the magnificent Cathedral Hall, located at 380 Montgomery Street. Monday, September 11th + Tuesday, September 12th at the Prudential Center {Newark}

Paul McCartney’s One on One tour makes not one but two stops in Hudson County this Month with back to back shows in Newark’s Prudential Center. Thursday, September 14th at Birch {Hoboken}

Milkshakes, gelato, dance floors, and now live music — Birch’s new Live Music Series will feature NJ’s best live bands. They’re kicking off this Thursday, September 14th with $5 beers, mixed drinks, and fireballs shots — and of course, never a cover. Sunday September 24th, Washington St. Between 8th and 14th {Hoboken}

Hoboken’s much-anticipated semi-annual Arts + Music Festival heads back to Washington Street this month, featuring a variety of bands in genres ranging from country blues to rock and roll to mambo. Whether you’re making a day of it or stopping by before the Giants game, there’s always plenty to keep your eyes and ears {and stomachs, for that matter} entertained at this festival. Tuesday, September 26th at White Eagle Hall

The sounds of high school angst come to White Eagle Hall with pop-punk legends The Queers, The Ataris, The Fiendz, and newcomer hardcore rock band the Red Hymns. Tickets range from $15 to $17 and can be found here.

Tuesday, September 26th at the Prudential Center

Talk about a golden opportunity: Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic World Tour is making a stop at the Prudential Center in Newark on September 26th. English singer-songwriter Dua Lipa will open the show. Tickets start at $199 on Ticketmaster.
