Asana Soul Practice is a local yoga studio with locations in Hoboken + Jersey City. Both studios have monthly sound bath experiences on the schedules. This experience includes Himalayan Singing Bowls, aromatherapy, and candlelight to help participants meditate deeply. The next event is planned for July 10th at 8:30PM in the Hoboken location.

Bike Hoboken hosts a monthly bike ride on the last Sunday of each month starting at 11AM. This “slow roll series” is designed for families with children who can ride independently at about 4 mph. The ride lasts for 4-5 miles with a police escort and a stop or two along the way. The ride starts in a different location each month so check Instagram for updates. Upcoming dates include July 28th, August 25th, September 29th, and a Halloween ride on October 27th.

The Hoboken Writer’s Group regularly meets at Little City Books in Hoboken. Anyone interested in writing is welcome to join. The group typically meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month starting at 6:30PM. Keep an eye on the Little City Books Instagram page for details on upcoming events.

Main Street Pops | 1401 Adams Street

Main Street Pops is a monthly artisan market complete with vendors, live music, and outdoor games. This family-friendly event takes place under Hoboken’s 14th viaduct + is a great place to shop for handmade jewelry + home decor, vintage items, pet products, and artisanal foods. This market is scheduled for July 28th, August 25th, September 22nd, October 27th, and November 24th from 11AM-4PM. A holiday market will take place weekly in December on the 8th, 15th, and 22nd.

 


 

Musica Hoboken | Sinatra Park

Anyone interested in learning how to salsa dance can participate in monthly classes at Sinatra Park. Riverview Jazz will host free Latin Jazz and Salsa dance classes on July 16th, August 13th, + September 24th starting at 7PM.

Pure Barre Hoboken Book Club | 70 Hudson Street, C2

Pure Barre is a popular fitness studio that also hosts a monthly book club. The new book is announced on Instagram or in-studio each month. The discussion is always held at the Hoboken location, but Jersey City Pure Barre members are welcome, too. Sign up at the front desk or by emailing [email protected].

Roig Collection Hoboken Art Gallery Monthly Opening | 252 1st Street

The Roig Collection is an art gallery that hosts monthly art openings on the first Thursday of every month. The event takes place from 6PM-8PM and the next opening is scheduled for August 1st.

Art House is a performing + visual arts hub close to the Grove Street PATH station. The art center hosts a free quarterly arts festival called JC Fridays to showcase local artists + performers. The next JC Fridays will take place on September 13th + December 6th.

Bike JC is a local citizen-based advocacy organization that aims to make Jersey City more bike-friendly. This group hosts monthly “Light Up Rides” on the second Friday of every month. Riders can decorate their bikes, helmets, and clothes with lights. The group typically meets at the Grove Street PATH station and rides for about 10-20 miles at a welcoming 8 mph pace. Upcoming rides ​are scheduled for July 12th + August 9th.

Departed Soles Trivia | 150 Bay Street #2A

Fox and Crow is a vibrant bar + live music venue in Jersey City Heights. Cinephiles should mark their calendars for the monthly Fox and Crow Cinema Series that takes place on the first Wednesday of every month in the Parlour. Tickets are available online for $15. Liberty Science Center is an engaging science museum that is home to one of the largest planetariums in the world. Record Riots | Grove Street PATH Plaza

Record Riots are a festival for music lovers filled with new + vintage vinyl. More than 40 vendors set up in the Grove Street PATH Plaza for this festival a few times each year. This event is free to attend and takes place from 9AM-5PM. Upcoming record-buying events are scheduled for July 27th, September 28th, + October 26th.
