Last minute kind of guy or gal? No worries, so are we. So a few days before Mother’s Day, we’ve compiled our list of favorite spots and gifts in town that are sure to make Mom think you’re the best child EVER:
1. Fitness Meets Dance: Dance Lessons
Help mom get her groove on with some dance lessons locally — Fitness Meets Dance has a variety of classes that mom can go to by herself or with a partner! They have Zumba, salsa, and so many more options. Olé!
2. Court Street: Wine Tasting Night
Monthly, Court Street has wine tastings that are $35 per person. Check the schedule and plan it for the future with mom {and maybe dad, siblings?} in tow. So fun! Bin 14 is also another great spot to take mom to an impromptu wine tasting, if you’re so inclined.
3. Luxe Face & Body: Eco-Friendly Skincare
We just looove Luxe and its organic/all-natural skin care and makeup lines. Give mom a gift of a some pampering and beauty while being health-conscious and eco-friendly. 4. Washington General Store: Everything in this store, basically.
Truthfully, Wash General Store is like the gift-buying mecca. So many awesome ideas and fabulous gifts for moms with a variety of interests and aesthetics — from wine gadgets to necklaces to lotion to picnic baskets…it’s all there. Read more about this gem of a store here.
5. Buddha Press Juices: A Detox Starter Pack
Yes, we totally made up the “Detox Starter Pack” tagline {you’re welcome, Buddha Press}, but for the mom who is watching her veggie and fruit intake, this is a great gift. Buddha Press makes fresh juices, but they also bottle their juice and sell it individually so that you can do a mini juice cleanse on your own. Their juice is delish!
6. Little City Books: Literary Buffs Rejoice
This bookstore just opened last weekend, and we couldn’t be happier! A beautiful addition to the neighborhood with a ton of NY Times best sellers, fiction, travel, and cookbooks {and then some!}. More about this beautiful book shop coming soon…
7. The Golden Carrot: All that glitters is {actually} gold!
This new uptown jewelry hot spot just opened, and has tons of {real} gold made by local artists and designers {with the cutest aesthetic, we might add!}. More on this gem of a find {no pun intended} coming soon!
8. The Hudson Table: Cooking classes for madre
I mean…easy peasy/who wouldn’t want this as a gift, mom or not! Hudson Table classes are seriously the bees’ knees. We love it there! Check out a recent visit here. They have so many classes to choose from, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re a beginner or expert in the kitchen.
9. Body Balance Massage: The gift that you’re going to want for yourself.
Help mom relax and unwind with one of our favorite Hoboken massage spots — Body Balance! They even have a monthly massage program and package deals which we love. #Need.
10. Liberty Humane Society: Donations for the animal-loving mom
If mom is an animal lover, perhaps a donation in her name to the Liberty Humane Society is just the key! Give a gift to honor your favorite mom and help LHS beautify their brand new outdoor dog run! The donations will go towards creating a beautiful, great smelling, air purifying, non-toxic plants; maples, seedless honeylocust, flowering dogwoods, lemongrass, lavender, lirope, pennyroyal, or creeping phlox. LHS will also send your mom-of-choice a hand-written note card letting her know that your local animal shelter, Liberty Humane Society, will be planting the lovely greenery in their honor. So sweet!
