Atelier Sucré, a New York City-based cooking studio, can now be found at the Monroe Center in Hoboken. Owner and head chef Chef Simon Herfray first opened the spot in 2014, but then relocated to the East Village at 104 East 7th Street in 2019. With a second location across the Hudson, local bakers and home cooks can take group and private cooking classes and learn to make sweet French pastries like croissants, gluten-free macarons, and tarts + madeleines, as well as savory Northeast classics like New York-style bagels and homemade pasta and pizza.

The viral Japanese-style soufflé pancakes have made their way to the Newport Centre Mall in Jersey City. Fluffy Fluffy Dessert Cafe, under the franchise Fuwa Fuwa Pancakes, is a new dessert spot in Jersey City serving savory “croffles,” burnt-top cheesecakes, coffee + espresso-based drinks, teas + refreshers, macarons, roll cakes, and — of course — soufflé pancakes. Known for its creative coffee drinks, heavenly cinnamon rolls, kid-friendly play spaces, and mini-market featuring local goods, The Hive has become a community staple in both Hoboken + Jersey City. The business, which rolls out specialty rolls on the weekends, has partnered with American Pitaschios to serve a new flavor: the Pistachio Chocolate Cinny, a fun take on the viral Dubai chocolate bar. This roll is made with pistachios, dark chocolate, white mocha, and cinnamon and is topped with pistachio pudding frosting and, you guessed it, more pistachios. The Hive debuted this new item on March 12th, and it will be available on weekends starting at 8AM throughout the month.

Jackson Square Pizzeria | 382 Martin Luther King Drive, Jersey City

This wouldn’t be New Jersey if there wasn’t news of a brand-new pizza spot coming to town. While HG does not have much information yet, we do know that Jackson Square Pizzeria will be Jersey City’s newest Italian joint. The team behind the spot is aiming to open within the next coming weeks, but an official opening date has not been announced yet. Like any traditional pizzeria, Jackson Square Pizza will serve a menu of pizza, pasta, salad, sandwiches, and classic Italian entrees.

MOJO Coffee Company may not be new to the Mile Square, as it has been captivating local coffee enjoyers since 2020, but the spot’s fresh pastry items are. Serving a menu of cold brew, drip coffee, espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, Americanos, tea, hot cocoa, and more, MOJO has added a few additions baked goods, including homemade strawberry pop tarts, funfetti cookies from Killer B Cookie Company, and its newest item: and the homemade crumb cake, which, according to an Instagram post, is mostly crumbs. MOJO also has plans to open a Jersey City location at 159 Newark Avenue. As per a previous HG article, the team was aiming for an early 2025 opening, but a date has yet to be revealed.

After announcing its Hoboken opening in October 2022, residents have eagerly waited almost two years to shop from the Brooklyn-based grocery store. The Hoboken Girl has confirmed that the 14,000 square feet space will officially open on Washington Street on Friday, March 14th. Like its sister stores, the first New Jersey location will provide a wide selection of organic options, including fresh fish, meat, produce, and premade hot foods.
