Happy Fourth! Whether you’re celebrating with friends or family this year, it’s always good to have some idea beforehand of where you are going before/after/during fireworks {see a full post on that here}. If you are staying local, here’s a roundup {in no particular order} of places that will be open on the 4th of July. It’s important to give some local businesses some love + attention on holidays too, especially as their employees are hard at work while the rest of America is relaxing. To help you plan your day, here’s a list of spots open in Hoboken + Jersey City on the 4th of July {2018}.

10th + Willow Bar and Grill {935 Willow Avenue}

10th + Willow is celebrating summer and Independence day all in one with a special block party. It will begin at 12:00PM and be filled with activities for everyone to enjoy. Be prepared for a water slide, DJ, beer garden, BBQ, face painters, magicians, ice cream, and a whole lot more.

Harborside Sport + Spine

Birch Hoboken {92 River Street}

In case you didn’t know, Birch Hoboken offers FREE gelato on days when the temp is above 90 degrees. They *also* offer it on the 4th of July, free of charge, regardless. Make sure to stop by and mention Hoboken Girl.

Hobbs Inc

Hoboken Turtle Club {936 Park Avenue}

Aloha! A 4th of July luau block party will be going on from 10:00AM-10:00PM in conjunction with 10th + Willow. Don’t miss out on the outdoor beer garden accompanied by music and food and a pig roast.

Choc O Pain {All Locations in Hoboken + Jersey City}

All locations will be open tomorrow, July 4th, from 8:00AM – 5:00PM. They’ll be closing early so the staff can celebrate!

Mikie Squared Bar + Grill {616 Washington Street}

Enjoy this Independence day on the patio at Mikie Squared. A more casual and relaxed way to enjoy the holiday.

City Bistro {56 14th Street}

This American bistro will be open with its normal hours {serving frosé, obviously}. A great spot for some drinks and food on the rooftop.

Moran’s Hoboken {501 Garden Street}

Moran’s will be open at noon on the 4th. And you know what that means: Burgers on burgers.

Wicked Wolf {120 Sinatra Drive}

Wicked Wolf will have a band and DJ most of the day — so you can be guaranteed a day of day drinking fun. upbeat and full of fun.

Black Bear Bar + Grill {205 Washington Street}

Black Bear will be open normal hours.

O’Bagel {600 Washington Street}

Home of the #JUMBOBAGEL is open to score some morning breakfast before starting your Independence Day shenanigans.

Halifax {225 River Street}

Burger + bourbon or a burger + beer? Either combo will be just $15 all day at Halifax. Cheers to the fourth!

Urban Coalhouse Pizza and Bar {116 14th Street}

Magnify your 4th at Urban Coalhouse with @magnifybrewing and all 6 of their great beers. It’s on till all the beer is gone.

Tally Ho {215 Washington Street}

Doors open at 4:00PM and well drinks starting at only $5, while pitchers of any draft beer at just $10.

Jersey City

The Archer {176 Newark Avenue, Jersey City}

At Archer, Bluegrass will be performing live from 7:30PM-10:00PM, so make sure to be ready for some live entertainment.

Astor Bar {725 Montgomery Street, Jersey City}

All BBQ food lovers should head over to this joint for some tasty food. Astor Bar will be hosting a BBQ/Pig roast from 3:00PM-11:00PM.

Lutze Biergarten {3 2nd Street}

Great food, drinks, and games are all you need to make The Fourth a poppin’ party. Doing all this in the sunshine then heading into the night where you can watch fireworks from the waterfront venue. NOTE: Snoop Dogg will also be performing. Click here for more details.

Porta {135 Newark Avenue}

Porta is the best when it comes to a summer party situation. The rooftop will open a bit earlier and most likely fireworks viewing is happening.

Surf City {1 Marin Boulevard}

A bar + grill with city views of the fireworks {what more could we need?}. Soak up the sun at Surf all day and into the night — plus views of the East River fireworks miiiight be possible.

Hamilton Pork {247 10th Street}

BBQ + 4th of July? It’s like you hosted your own party, except you don’t have to cook the food.

White Star Bar {230 Brunswick Street}

White Star Bar’s Warren street location will be open normal hours and the Brunswick Street location will close around 7:00PM that day, per their Instagram.

Piggyback Bar {200 Hudson Street}

The waterfront venue is another spot to check out, open on the 4th — featuring Asian fusion and delicious bites made by its world-famous chef, Leah Cohen.

RoofTop at Exchange Place {1 Exchange Place, Jersey City}

Enjoy the fireworks from one of the best view spots in Jersey City {unobstructed views!}.

Mathews Food and Drink {351 Grove Street}

Don’t forget to stop by for the bad + bourgie BBQ going down. Make a reservation at Mathews {which is only a 15-minute walk to the fireworks}.

Departed Soles Brewing Co. {150 Bay Street}

Jersey City’s first microbrewery will be open prior to the Snoop Dog performance happening in Downtown Jersey City. They may not have gin or juice, but they do have a new IPA with a touch of juicy flavor from the Belma and Falconer’s Flight hops.
