There have been rumors for months and then confirmation this summer, but it’s finally happening — Orale Mexican Kitchen is opening a second location in Hoboken THIS week! The popular Mexican restaurant {that serves delish margs + yummy eats} will be taking over the former Porter Collins space in the Mile Square at 1426 Willow Avenue. Their OG location, 341 Grove Street in Jersey City, proved to be super successful, drawing crowds for their brunches, drinks, and unique decor {and space, might we add}. Orale’s second location in Hoboken will have a similar vibe but a more off-the-beaten spot in Hoboken, located on Willow right next to West Elm and Fit Foundry. Here’s a bit more about Orale and its Hoboken location — plus a sneak preview of the space — opening Wednesday, November 21st to the public:

Orale’s menu and cocktails have been a draw since inception. A few of the go-to picks include the Pollo Tacos {flour tortillas FTW}, and if you’re looking for an extra greasy caloric splurge, the Buttermilk Biscuits with Gravy are a necessity — as are the Breakfast Nachos for the table {with crisp duck confit, salsa, cheddar, black beans, raddish, crema and pico de gallo, + two fried eggs}.
Beyond its noteworthy food menu, the drinks are definitely something to write home about. The OG margarita is called Nuestra Casa {but they have a colorful array of different flavors and offerings}. Some are super sweet, but some are on the more tart side. On weekends, their brunch has $6 cocktails — and the price per drink includes mimosas, bloody marys, nuestra casa, frozen margarita, and sangrias.

Desserts on the Hoboken menu will be top-notch, evidenced by our tasting, below:
They even have Bang Cookies on the new dessert menu. Enough said.
Decor-wise, Orale has quite the colorful unique ambiance, daring to take some risks {with colorful graffiti adorning the walls and skulls and candles all around}. #Lovingit. The second location has the same vibe — with similar decor {and an even bigger space than JC}.

Hopefully the North Hoboken location will prove to be fruitful for the owners and draw a similar crowd to Jersey City, as Porter Collins opened and closed in that area of town within just a few months. The area has been steadily growing, adding businesses to uptown Hoboken including West Elm, SLT Hoboken, Fit Foundry, Tenafly Pediatrics, Gravity Vault, — and right down the block, The Shep and Trader Joe’s. The space at 1426 Willow Avenue is quite large, so it’s likely to be great for a big brunch {or dinner} group, as its sister restaurant in Jersey City offers.
The hours at the Jersey City location are Monday-Thursday 3:00PM-10:00PM, Friday 12:00PM-11:00PM, Saturday 12:00PM-11:00PM, and Sunday 12:00PM-9:00PM; we’re assuming the Hoboken location will have similar hours. The restaurant is set to open Wednesday, November 21st in Hoboken. Congrats to Orale on the expansion — and bravo for another job well done!
