Summertime is officially in full swing, and for our Hoboken mamas + papas, it’s time to get yourself {and the kiddies} outside for some fun. There are plenty of outdoor children’s activities going on in Hoboken, but we know it’s not always easy for mamas to find time to research the best ones. That’s why our mama contributor, Ashley, did the work for you and rounded up the best outdoor children’s activities in Hoboken — read on to see which ones are best for you:

Produce + Music @ The Garden Street Farmer’s Market {14th & Garden Street}

If you’re looking for coffee, a croissant, and some fresh tomatoes, the Garden Street Farmer’s Market will check off all the boxes. Not only do they have delicious produce but they have live entertainment for your little ones. Let your child enjoy singing and dancing while you stroll the fresh fish, veggies and more. Open Saturdays 9:00AM-2:00PM.

JK Therapy

If you, as a parent, lack that creative gene, don’t fret. Art in the Park allows young children to try out different art projects while being outside — double score. Not only will you get those projects done with no mess in your house, but it is the cheapest class you’ll find in town {only $35 for the entire session}.

Baby Bandstand {Locations Vary}

There’s just no better way to enjoy the outdoors than with a fun-filled music class. Baby Bandstand is having their Wednesday classes at Hamilton Park {9:30AM} and Church Square Park {12:00PM}. They play live music with multiple instruments while incorporating a story and learning. For example, they always focus on a letter of the day along with singing the alphabet song. This is the perfect mix of enrichment for your little one while enjoying music.

Happy Feet Soccer {Maxwell Park}

For kids aged 2-6, Happy Feet offers outdoor soccer options at Maxwell Park. Quoted directly from their site, they “provide a nurturing, safe, & fun environment that allows all of our participants to get comfortable with this new experience in the way that is most comfortable them.” This class is held on Saturdays and Sundays and is a great way to get your child interested in soccer, while they enjoy time with their friends.

Family Fun Nights

Hoboken is the home of Family Fun Nights at Shipyard Park. These are every Tuesday night at 7:00PM in the summer months. Think outdoor time, music, and children playing with friends. Let’s not forget that parents also get to come and enjoy the evening festivities with their friends. It’s a win-win for all.

The Inner Athlete

In addition to the Inner Athlete’s indoor space, they offer a sports-filled outdoor summer camp at Maxwell Pier. This is offered for ages 2.5-7 and they must be potty trained. If your little one falls within this age group and wants a chance to play all sports (think basketball, baseball, volleyball, golf and more) then this is worth considering.

Hoboken Public Library: Storytime in the Park

Starting May 22, the Hoboken Public Library offers stories and songs for children and caregivers in Church Square Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 AM for ages 6 months to 2 1/2 years.  They offer a story time option on Wednesdays for ages  2 1/2 years+. Due to having ample space outdoors, there is no Eventbrite registration required. More info here.
